Your rear drum bearing has worn through the plastic and is now hitting the metal support underneath it,
soon it will act like a guillotine and slice of the ball, the drum will fall backwards into the heating element and short to ground causing the fuse to blow the heater element to burn intwo and the whole thang will be dead in the water.

When the dryer begins its process, a long loud "squeaking" sound erupts, the dryer still dries, but this sound may last 5 - 7 minutes, then the squeak diminishes to a soft squeaking sound the remainder of...

The noise is likely coming from a roller which keeps tension on the belt which wraps around the drum. This roller will sometimes squeal as it wears on the shaft to which is mounted Follow the instructions below to replace the Idler roller.

Pull the dryer out enough to get behind it. there is a lower black panel to be removed by taking out all the 5/16" screws around the edge. Swing the panel aside and look into it. You will see the motor to the right. The roller should be between you and the motor. The configuration looks like the picture at the link below.

The belt goes in the grooves on the motor pulley and the flat side runs around the idler pulley, according to the GE chart on this image.

It sounds like the drum may be stuck. Turn the dryer on with the door open, just keep the button pushed. Then try to turn the drum by hand, and see if it will start to turn.

Stackable dryer- the dryer is heating up but it is not blowing the moisture out through the vent. It made a really loud squeaking noise before it quit. How do i fix and where is the controls for this?

Can be a couple of possibilities. Most likely your fan belt is broken.
Or perhaps the fan bearing has seized up (noise).
What is the make and model please?

Makes squeaking noise after running for about 10 minutes

there are 2 drum rollers at the back of the dryer. shut off power, pull drum and you will see 2 rubber wheels. there is a little plastis triangle that keeps the roller in place. try spinning the rollers . they probably will not spin too freely. remove triangles ,inspect inside of roller the stainless steel bearing may have gunk on it try to clean off . also check shaft roller rides likewise remove any debri use a little rubbing alcohol to remove gunk. also check the idler roller that routes the belt for the same things. good luck

Top and back of Kenmore dryer feels very hot to touch

this alway in a indication of a venting issue it would seem that it is not in your venting that you can see but it may be plugged up in the wall somewhere in this case you will need a pro. chimney sweep or THE DRYER VENT WIZARD if there is one in your area to come and clean your vents
