Well you eliminated the fill valve when you said it does fill with water. More than likely its a bad connection on the control board. I wouldn't betmy paycheck on it but thats where I'd start. Take the cover off the control board and while machine is on being really careful wiggle each wire until the water starts in the tub and you have found the problem.
If overfills onto the floor , then the waterlevel switch hose came off the switch behind the control panel . You have to remove the 2 side screws and tilt panel to see the hose and switch . If the water keeps filling , but doesn't go on the floor , then you have a syphon problem at your drain . As it fills , water is being sucked out by your drain due to no air able to get in around the drainhose and drainpipe . Pull drain hose out of drain and only insert about 4-5 inches into drain . If hose is tightly in drain , a parts house or home depot should have a syphon break in stock .
yes it has a lint trapped ..its on the bottom of wash basket,,its part of the wash basket..when the unit washes it traps the lint when the unit goes in to spin it shoots it down the drain,,i dont advice taking that out unless your a tech..now what you can do is fill unit with hot water and about a pint of bleach and let that do the work its also good for pipes,,this technic should have been a process 1 amonth ..
Hello. Yes there is a fill level pressure switch. It is pressure activated by the pressure of water rising in a tube as the water rises in the tub. It's easy to find and easy to replace. Look for the tube and follow it to the switch. Parts for Kenmore are available at 1-800-516-9625 or at http:\www.sears.com. Good luck.
