My toshiba a135 was recently dropped or stepped

My toshiba satellite a135 was recently dropped or stepped on, the screen looks like it is bleeding, it worked fine for a few days until i was syncing my ipod, the screen froze and the laptop shutdown itself. i can hear the fan, the drive light does not come on and i have tried all f combos, battery suggestions and letting it rest, nothing helps. sometimes the battery light will be green change orange then nothing at all. When i power up ,the ON and cheese wheel looking symbol light up but after a second or so only ''life'' is the ON symbol stays lighted and the sound of the fan running. PLEASE HELP.

Sorry but you've killed you laptops m/board - if the unit is under warranty contact your supplier and log a service call but do not mention dropping the unit or you will be denied warranty.

I was knocked down stairs x wind slamming screen door onto me, dropped my laptop & screen is ruined/all fragmented. how much is a replacement screen for a toshiba satellite pro120? thanx

Average price seems to be about $80 for just the screen - fitting not included.

If you shop around you can probably find one for about $60-70. There are several on eBay, but some of these may be cheap non OEM screens:

Hope this helps

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135 and not sure if blacklight or something else

Your backlight lamp, (Bulb), or the Inverter is bad.

1.General instructions, and photos, for replacement of a typical laptop backlight,
http://www.ccfldirect.com/lcdtutorial.html

2.Instructions for completely disassembling a Toshiba Satellite A135 laptop. The reason I included this is twofold.

A.It shows, and tells exactly, how to remove the LCD screen from your laptop.

B.It shows you that the following information in link 3, on how to replace an Inverter in a Satellite A105, will work for your Satellite A135.
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a135/remove-mainboard-1.htm
(At the bottom of this page you will see Page1:: Page2:: Page 3:: Page 4
You are on Page 1. Just click on the white Page2, and so on, to continue)

3.How to replace an Inverter in a Satellite A105,
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-A105/remove-replace-LCD-screen-1.htm

FIRST! Always remove all power! AC adapter, (Charger), and battery.

Second! Observe anti-static guidelines!

Third! This ain't tough! It just looks hard. Once you see how simple this is, I'm sure you'll agree with me.
