What type of HR monitor do you have? Did you have manufactorer change the battery sometimes if you just have it done at a local watch place it won't work right. It could be the display settings were changed or it is in zoom, I would check that first.

When I took my blood preasure there's a heartbeat sign next to my pulse reading. What does that mean

It shows your heart is till beating and the LCD readout should tell you, your heart rate. Some monitors will also indicate if the heart beat is regular or irregular.

It appears my F6 monitor is not keeping accurant time on calories and heart rate. I like the watch but while checking my sitting heart rate is very low. When checking the heart rate on a blood pressure...

First you need to understand that the Polar system is a medical grade device and it is calculating calories based on specific information that you have inputed and heart rate data from your heart.

Most treadmills and other exercise machines use a much simpler counter that is height and weight based to calculate calories and are generally over generous with their numbers.

Depending on the blood pressure machine you are using, the pulse (not heart rate) is coming through the brachial artery, again not quite as accurate as measuring r-r variance from your heart. There is a ton of literature you can read if you are into the accurateness of the system, but I will sum up with saying that you actual calorie expenditure will be closer on the Polar than on most other devices outside of a hospital. As too the heart rate this is also true, so more likely you are getting inaccurate numbers from the other devices.

If you want pinpoint accuracy then you will need to use the Polar RS800 or S810 devices that measure and display true R-R.

I just put a new battery in the Polar F4 heart rate monitor watch and it does not work. The battery died about 2 years ago and I never replaced it until now. How can I get the heart rate monitor working...

This is a common issue. The Polars and other Heart Rate monitors are not designed to be fixed by the consumers except for very specific models. These only look like watches, they are in fact mini computers and very susceptible to internal damage if not handled properly.

You need to send the unit it to a Polar Authorized Service Center to have fixed properly. There is not reset within the computer, if you had done everything correctly then it would work.

I had a battery shop replace the battery and have reset the time, date, etc., but it is not picking up the pulse but returns to the time screen. I cannot get to the functions to set age, maximum pulse,...

This is what worked for me.

Press & Hold MODE till it FLASHES (Seconds will flash first), then
Press ST/STP and it will jump to MINUTES, then
Press the LAP/RESET till desired Minutes. Once you do,
Press ST/STP and it will jump to HOURS, then
Press the LAP/RESET till desired HOUR (if you go past 12 it will then show p.m. and vice versa for a.m). Once the Hour is chosen,
Press MODE.

DONE!

I have a mio euorfit heart monitor watch. During my workout I

Yes, you definetely need battery replacement.
As the hart rate monitoring is most sophisticated part of the device, it has more IC (Integrated Circuits) than any other features.
More IC's means more power is needed, so, if the heart rate monitor is starting to malfunction, that's the very first sign of underpowered battery.
Find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for battery replacement.

Do not forget to rate, please.

no it shouldnt be cause the heart rate would be based off your pulse

im not a heart specialist but ive had my share of heart polups and a faulty valve in my heart
i was told by my doctor that the heart rate is monitored by bloodpreasure threw the veins pulse so i dont think that the size of the watch would make a difference this is in my opinion based off my own docs words hes the doc what can i say

but recommend that you speak with your doctor about heart monitor watches they know more indepth about these devices or your local pharmacy

i hope this helped you out
