Zune 120GB black. The Zune pad will not work properly. When I access Music and try to navigate through menus, it is sporadic. Sometimes when I hit the area I want, e.g. playlist, it won't even move. Sometimes it takes me back to Music, sometimes it will go to the playlist, then when I hit the list I want, it goes back to album or song, etc. Sometimes when I hit it at the beginning to go to Music, it won't work at all and I have to push it 2 or 3 times.

no, dont just do the following
On your zune make sure the hold button isn't on At the same time hold down the back button and upwards on the directional pad until the screen goes black then use your left hand and press the back button while using your right index finger to press the middle of the zune pad use your middle finger (on your right hand) to press play pause button. All of these need to be held at the same time. You should get a please wait message. follow the instructions on screen.
You will have to re-sync it. You cannot just upload the "image" of your old Zune. You will have to treat is as if you never had a Zune in the first place. You CAN transfer your Zune's name and tags, but you can't have it automatically upload all of the old songs onto it.
the problem with the zune is that its own by microsoft and you cannot sync music without the software however there is a zune forum that you can check out for advice on how to use the software better.. zune.net then check out the forums
in order to fix this . you have to restart the device. to restart the device you press and hold back while also pressing and holding the top part of the zune pad until screen goes blank and zune logo appears this should work. if contact support comes back up try restoreing the device.

man i have the same problem, i was listening to my black 120gb Zune & i just upgraded to firmware 3.0 & now this s*** wont turn on! i been using it 3 days fine, but now it just shut off like its completely dead. i have been charging it for hours & hours & it just doesnt even turn on or have a battery icon or anything! i have it plugged in now too. restarted the computer, everything.... i tried to restart it by pressing back & up... are there any other shortcuts i can try? computer doesnt detect it or ANYTHING!!! HELLLLLP
