If the threads are gone, you will need to replace the part. Replacement parts can be purchased from Shure Parts at 800-516-2525.

How do you get a broken end of a needle out of the machine? I've removed the part that was screwed in, but am worried if I don't find the broken end, that I'll break my machine.

I turn my machine upside down when that happens and it usually dislodges the needle.

If you have a can of compressed air spray it in from the rear if possible. In fact compressed air is a great way to get all fluff and broken threds out.

If all else fails a weak magnet might help find it but keep it away from the computersied works.
Good luck.

When reinstalling the drain plug i that it was tight then it got loose i know i didn't over tighten it, then removed the plug and then noticed alum.on the threds the threds screwed off the plug easy in one...

Hello; Safe saves! If in doubt, take it completely out and give the threads a good visual inspection. Take a good look at the case threads also. Sometimes, when a plug is removed, the copper or nylon gasket creeps up the threads. when reinstalling the gasket then jumps the threads giving a sudden loose feeling,. After inspecting and making sure the seal, between the case and drain plug, is flat against the underside of the plug. When tightening, turn the plug slowly continue until the crush or sponge feeling is gone and the plug is firmly seated. Do not go past "STOP"! Good Luck and thanks for using Fixya for your answers. _Ned_

that what you get for doing them up so tight,,,if your lucky you should still have a little thred showing ,,get a hold of this thred in a very very soft vice and undo the cap,,,,if you bamage this thred the scope is going to be a scraper,,,when you get the top off put a spot of supper glue on the first thred and screw it back into the scope,,,you should now have the scope re-gased,,,

Oil pan will not quit leaking after replacing stripped drain plug

If it IS Leaking from DRAIN PLUG and You Can Not RE-TAP New THREDS into it ( REPLACE the OIL PAN) I Have never RE-TAPED Drain Plug Threds Because I Prefer Original Threds, So Any Customer wiht This Problem, I Advised them to Replace the Whole OIL PAN.
This is What I Would do, The Oil Avalability Is CRUCIAL to The Engines Survival.

2000 Chrsyler neon transmission fitting problem

You Must Gain Axsess to that hole and Inspect for Proper threds.
If threds are Too Damaged it must be rethreded, this can be costly so if at all possible D I Y. Gat thred type & Line nut size and go "1" size up.As I said this IS a HARD one to REPAIR so Good Luck on it.
P.S IF by chance the threds are Not Too Damaged RETAP The hole W/ Same Size & TYPE of THRED again GOOD LUCk
