You will need to check the swith that change from Tape to CD to other functions. If the switch is good. Then the next thing is to check for tape function. Can you try to fast forward, reverse. If these functions are working properly then the pinch roller ( the little wheel that is pulling the tape need to be replaced). If nothing moves then you need to replace the belt and the wheel and possible the motor at the same time

there are little rubber belts inside that attach the motor to the gears that turn the tapes or cd's. over time they stretch out and turn everything slower and slower. you can try replacing the belts, or finding the speed adjustment screw for the motor and turning it up. either one is usually more effort than its worth though. they just weren't designed to last for a long time.

Cassette player doesnt play or record, ff or rewind. CD player, AM/FM radio works fine.

Hi.
If you hear a faint whirring sound from the cassette player while performing these functions, the motor is fine, but you require a new drive belt/s that need to be fitted at an electronics shop. If you hear not sound at all, the motor has died (possibly belts too), again it will require and electrinics repair shop visit.
For the sake of repairing it, it maybe cheaper to buy a new one.

Although Fisher has been a manufacturer of fine audio products for many years, like most audio, their products are mostly centered around digital systems rather than analog. It is doubtful you will find the belt you need. I would contact a TV repair shop. Many still have supplies of this type belt. In the mean time, since you are already inside the machine, try a rubber band about 3/4's the the length from the motor to the capstan. That should make a pretty good temporary fix for a while. Good luck!

Unable to to dub from the radio, phono,or cd

As far as I know, you need to press Record button to record from external source. If you press Dub, it will start Dubbing from Tape-A to Tape-B. You might be need to press Record and later press Pause or Play to start recording.
