if its powering on without being connected to anything do the following.

connect it via usb cable to your pc
click on start, right click on my computer and go to manage
in the table select, "storage" then "disk managment"
in that table find the drive that relates to your mp3 player
if its not there "buy a new mp3 this is faulty" if its there
then right click on it and select "new partition"
you just next next everything and then format it and after
    a while it shows "healthy2
unplug it, plug it back on and that's it your drive is fully working
now move what ever you want to it just like before.

It seems the file system on the player is corrupted asking for a re-format. I don't believe you may be able to et your music back. It would be best to fornat and start over.

If however, you get the same error after the format, it may mean that your player has a physical fault. Needs replacement...

    ok try this

connect the player to your computer, on the computer, right click on "my computer" and click on "manage"

On the left you shoudl see disk management, click that.

on the right, see if you can find a removal disk or drive. That should be your player. Does it have a partition? right click it and create a new partition and format it using fat32.

    Please advise if this works

Plug in your mp3 player.
Go to My Computer-> Right click on the mp3 player-> properties-> format-> format it using FAT file format and then re-connect it with the computer.

Go to control panel-> administrative tools-> computer management-> from there select storage and under storage you will see disk management-> Can you see your mp3 player over there-> if yes then right click on it and select the option change drive letter path-> change it to K or L(drive letters which are not used).

Here are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

also try this another method
go to my computer> properties>hardware > device manager >universal bus driver>right click on it> update driver>
then1
1.yes this time only> next 2.choose advanced option>next 3don't search i"ll update from........>next4.click on show campatible> next> next 5. now it updated then restart you computer

Error! Reformat Internal Media as FAT16

Wow! FAT16! I wonder why it would want you to do that?

Here's how you do it on a Windows-based OS:
Connect mp3 player to computer
Double-click My Computer
Right-click the icon of the mp3 player
Select Format
When it gives you a choice between FAT and FAT32, choose FAT

Depending on the requirements of the mp3 player, you may just have to right-click format in Explorer, or a computer guru friend to format it for you with a partitioning program if it needs a partition table.
