I have a compaq persario m2000 my wifi light is on but i cant get to the internet, its telling me Internet Explorer cannot display, the webpage please help thanks

There are two lights for the WiFi, Amber and Blue. the following explanation is from HP's website.

An indicator light c01525482.jpg glows blue when the Bluetooth or WiFi communication devices are turned on. If the computer has both Bluetooth and WiFi and one of them is turned off or the device is disabled, the light glows amber. The indicator light does not glow at all when power to the device is turned off. The HP Wireless Assistant software must be used to enable or disable the individual wireless functions.

How to enable lan card from cmos

When you first turn on your computer, press F10 to enter "ROM Based Setup". You should see four menus: File, Security, Diagnostics and System Configuration. Use the arrow keys to go to System Configuration, and press the <Enter> key
Use the arrow keys to select "Built-in Device Options", then press <Enter> to bring up the list of network devices (or, if the list pops up when the this item is highlighted, navigate to the one you wish to configure. You can enable or disable the device at this point.
When you are done, navigate to the File menu, then select "Save changes and Exit" to finish starting your computer.
Note: there is a switch on the left side of the computer with an LED light next to it for turning the wireless LAN on or off. This must also be on (blue light) to enable the WLAN device. If the light is amber, the WLANis off. On most models using a two-color LED indicator, no light indicates the WLAN is disabled in the setup configuration or system software.
See Computer Setup User Guide for more information.

The bluetooth turns on using FN + F11 it should turn the wireless too but doesn't MSI U100

As per the manual the FN and F11 keys turn on both Bluetooth and Wireless so you need to try it will turn bluetooth and then it will turn on wireless, you can check them by LEDS

Press and hold the Fn button, and then press the F11 button
repeatedly to enable or disable the Wireless LAN or Bluetooth function
recurrently.

Wireless LAN and Bluetooth:
Wireless LAN LED indicator glows green when Wireless LAN function is
enabled.
Bluetooth LED indicator glows blue when Bluetooth function is enabled.
Both LED indicators glow green and blue at the same time when both
functions are enabled.
Both LED indicators go out when both functions are disabled.
Note: For flight safety consideration, make sure these two LED indicators
go out when you are in flight.

Let me know if you are able to turn the wireless on

Also i will suggest you check in device manager that you wireless adapter is enabled

I own a HP DV9000 my wireless quit working

Check the Device Manager to see if the Wireless LAN device is working and enabled. If not reinstall the Wireless LAN driver.
If the Wireless LAN is OK and enabled then sometimes when you bootup the Wireless LAN card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. This usually has a red X on the wireless connection icon and sometime you get an error message "Limited or no connection".
To get the router to issue the wireless LAN card with a new IP address, righr click on the Wireless icon and click on Repair.
You can also power down the router wait 15secs and power up the router again then reboot the computer.
If it still doesn't work you could have a faulty wireless card, see it your friendly computer shop can test it for you.

Wireless not working on HP DV6105us

What operating system are you using and what make and model of router are you using. for now, try to uninstall your wireless LAN driver and re-install it again. make sure the wireless feature switch in front of the laptop is turned on and a Blue light, a wireless local area network (LAN) device is turned on. If it is
Amber: All wireless devices are turned off.

Wireless/LAN indicator on pc stays amber

best advice is as long as it's working don't try to fix it. you may cause more problems than you solve. as long as you get the internet ok, do you really care what color the light is?

My HP wireless doesn't work? I don't have wireless connection on my compaq laptop anymore.

check your wireless adapter is on... the switch is on the front of your laptop and you should show a blue light when it's on, also go into device manager and see network adapters.. you should have 2 (the wire one built-in and your wireless network adapter.. if you only have one network adapter, check the front and see if the light indicating the status of your wireless network adapter is amber.. (if it's showing amber and you're sure it's in the on position you may have a motherboard problem and you may need to send the system back (I just had one of those with a compaq computer and since the item was within warranty the fixed in a week)

if your wireless adapter light is blue and you see your wireless adapter in device manager follow this instructions and you should be ok,

Wireless

Are you sure that it is red and not amber?

Amber, means that an integrated wireless device is turned off.
In which case these steps will help you.
