There are no proprietary batteries for the Philips SA3025 - if it is not working, and it was purchased within 1 year, call Philips and see if you can get an in-warranty repalcement. If you are out of warranty, the spec sheet and manual on this model lists the generic type of battery that you will need:

Battery capacity: 310mAh
•Battery Type: LI-Polymer

My gogear is not working

  1. If your Philips GoGear is not turning on, the battery is more than likely shot. Open up the back of the unit by removing any screws you find, and then carefully removing the back. A guitar pick can help separate the back cover without scratching anything.
  2. Find the part number off of your battery and go to: http://www.partstore.com/OpenSearch/Model/Royal+Philips+Electronics/Philips.aspx
  3. Type in your part number and click Go.
  4. When your new battery comes in, install it in replace of the old one.
  5. When your GoGear is back together, plug it in to the charger and let it charge for about an hour before attempting to turn it back on.
  6. If you are still having problems with your device, you will need to contact Philips at: 1-888-744-5477, Monday - Saturday 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM EST, Sunday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST Excluding Major Holidays

Can i replace the battery for my philips SA9122 player? it doesnt hold power anymore

Hello,

its possible for you to change the battery. If the battery is an in-built, you will have the loose/open the player's cover to be able to access the battery.

Also take the battery along as a sample to get another one.

Take care.

New battery?

Yes. It takes a Rechargeable Li-polymer 280mAh
battery. Just unscrew the back carefully with a miniature Phillips-head screwdriver and replace.

Is this a battery issue or hard drive?

Make sure the battery is of this type:
Power
•Battery capacity: 830 mAh
•Battery Type: Li-ion

If this type of battery does not work, it is neither the battery, nor the hard drive. The problem is with the circuit. Unless you are an electronic genius with the right tools, it would be impossible to fix. There are no schematics available.

I hope this at least helps you find the right battery type.

The flickering screen would indicate that the unit is not faulty. Nor is the battery. This happens when the battery is fully discharged. The player does not recognise that the battery is there. Philips released a firmware update to fix this.

Download the update from here:

https://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=ENG&mid=Link_Software&cat=MP3_PLAYERS_CA&sct=HDD_AUDIO_JUKEBOX_SU&session=20080726040453_86.146.31.127&grp=PORTABLE_ENTERTAINMENT_GR&ctn=HDD070/05&dct=FUS&did=ENG&file=/files/h/hdd070_05/hdd070_05_fur_eng.htm

Ideally you need a spare battery so the player can be started up to update the firmware. To remove the battery, undo the screw at the top right of the player and unclick the end cap. The battery plugs into the PCB so is easy to remove.

If you don't have a battery, sometimes unplugging / plugging in the charger & battery can get the player started. Alternatively, you can obtain a battery to update the firmware from www.cheapestelectrical.co.uk

Although they are not on the website, they have a compatible battery (for an HDD1620) which can be used to power up the player to perform the update to v5.2. Then you can switch back to the original.

Go to the "about us" page and contact them directly. I know they have them in stock.

Ask for a HDD1620 battery.

Not possible for less cost than a replacement player (if anyone will do it at all - typical cost $225.00) - find out if you are still in warranty with Philips.

Wont stay turned on.

1) Make sure the usb charger is in the lock position before trying to charge.
2) Open Philips Device Manager and try repairing the device. [connect your GoGear to the computer, open Philips Device Manager (Start-->All Programs-->Philips), and click on the repair tab. Now, disconnect your GoGear from computer. Turn the GoGear off if it is not already. Press and hold the volume + key and connect the GoGear to the computer (while still pressing the volume +). A window will pop up saying a repair is being performed. now you can let go of the Volume + button. The repair will get your device working normally again. WARNING: the repair process will delete any music/other media file from your GoGear.]

3) after repair, perform a firmware upgrade ("Update" tab in Philips Device Mgr while GoGear is connected to computer - see Philips website for more details)

Worst case scenario - Even rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charging cycles. The battery for the SA178 is an LI-Polymer 300mAh 12-hr battery. Philips won't fix it for you, but you might want to find a local repair service.

Philips HDD1630 MP3 Player about 2 years old, no excessive use, won't charge any more or be seen by computer. Only shows low battery on screen then dies. I am a little technically incline, can anyone tell...

You may have to change the battery, but try Reset, Repair, and Update (firmware upgrade) first. Also, there is an FAQ on the Philips website for the computer does not recognize device issue (but only follow it AFTER you have tried reset, repair, and update).

Open Philips Device Manager and try repairing the device. This model suffers from battery faults. Not much you can do except change battery.

If it's still under warranty, take it back.
