Hi,
If the computer logo (dell or any other brand which u are having) is clear then this is not an screen issue and if it is also faded then u will have to repair the screen.
This might be the issue related with panel or back light so please get it checked by a professional.

Try the monitor on another PC. If it is the same way, the TFT Matrix screen itself is Failing; You will have to replace the screen. TCC

You may have bad cable between the main board and the LCD panel, you can try reseating the connector on the back of the LCD panel first to see if it helps, worst case will be the new LCD panel needed. Try do some reading here: www.insidemylaptop.com

My screen fades after 3 seconds after it was switched on

It can be the problem in the backlight inverter circuits, you will need to open it up and inspect the inside. Please see my pictures here to get some ideas what to look for inside:

Hopefully it will be bad lamp assemblies. For 15" monitor, I would not take it to repair shop, it will end up costing you at least $50 and more, use that money toward new monitor instead.

Black screen

If it fades linearly, it is probably the high voltage inverter for the backlight fluorescent lamp. Generally, the lamp dies over time with some flickering of it first.
That inverter is normally on a small, separate board and once the unit is open, it is easy to locate and replace.

Fade light

That is either a defective controller board or a faulty LCD controller board.

Parts must be tested before replacement.

Monitor fades and turns blue

this sounds like a transistor issue concerning the ccfl lamps the power transistors are deteriorating and they will eventually go bad you can have them replaced and that should fix the issue. otherwise I would say have the capacitors that feed the ccfl's may be getting old and need replacement as well, its not something the average customer will want to do but if you have a service center that does electronic repair then that would be bst.
Hope this helps
