Hello,

Most recent Mac OSX versions have the printer driver already included however you need to download and install the scanning driver (TWAIN driver).

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=219&lc=en&cc=ca&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3418707#N191

You can use this link to the HP download site and download the driver package that includes the scanning software.

Thanks,

Pat

My printer will not scan. When I push the scan button nothing happens

Most likely you have to install the software for it, as the button usually signals the computer that you want to scan and the software takes over from there. Go to Canon's website and download the drivers for the MP210 (click the link, select your Operating System, and download it). After downloading, open the file (find where you downloaded it to and double-click it). If you already have the software, perhaps the printer is defective or there is a problem in the connection. Check to be sure the cables are plugged in firmly to the computer and AC power.

I cannot get my cannon to scan a photograph from printer to computer - please help before I push it off desk.... thanks

First - verify that you have installed the printers software on your computer before connecting it to your pc? If you have not installed the printers software, or do not have the disk to do so - go to Cannons website and download it to your pc. www.cannon.com. Click on support, then find download drivers/software and enter your make and model of your printer. Follow the prompts to download and then install it.

How do you know if you have or do not have the software already installed? You should be able to find the cannon software for your printer on your desktop. look for the icon.

Once you have the software installed, there are two ways to scan something to your computer.

You can scan from the printer to the pc. Or you can scan from the pc to the printer. What does that mean? It means you can use the printers keypad and send the image to the pc. Or you can open the software in the computer and request the image from the printer. You either send or request but the end result is the same.

The easiest way is to use the software in the computer. Double click on the cannon software on your desktop. Find the "scan" option and click on it. Make sure your printer is turned on and connect and click "ok" to start the scan. The picture will appear on your screen. You can adjust it when its finished.

If you want to try and scan using the keyboard on the printer. press the scan button. The printers display will say "searching for applications" and there will be a delay until it is finished. The printer is searching for compatible applications to send the image to. The choices are usually microsoft word, Adobe pdf, internet explorer followed by any graphic or image software you have installed that the printer recognizes and the cannons default software. When its done downloading the applications, you have the ability to choose which one you want to send your image to. Press the "send to and pick the application you want to use" on the printers display. Then press "enter" or "ok" and the image will be sent to that program and appear on your computer screen.

Hi there,
You can install the updated software from the link below
HP Officejet and PSC Full Feature Software and Driver
Alternatively, if you have already installed the software and you only want to scan pictures, you can do with Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard,

TO OPEN SCANNER AND CAMERA WIZARD: Go to Start Menu> All Programs> Accessories>Scanner And Camera Wizard You can scan indivitually or multiple pictures at a time, and each picture will be saved in Jpeg format (by default)
if you require more assistance, feel free to reply to this post

You need to go into the software settings and allocate where the files are saved to. All scanning software has this option.

Lexmark x6150 will not scan with os vista. I downloaded the latest driver already. How do I get it to scan?

If you have any photo gallery software installed on the computer, you'll need to use that to scan with it since there is no all in one software for vista.

When I try to scan from printer to computer I get 'scan error'. See documentation. I am trying to scan to a mac - does that matter?

You need to use the grey cd to install the software onto your Mac if you have not already done so. If you don't have the Mac CD you can download the installation software and all drivers from HP here (select your operating system first).

If you have installed it aready, try uninstalling and then reinstalling using the HP website to obtain the updated drivers etc. rather than your CD.

Once you have uninstalled the software, disconnect your printer and then restart your computer. Do not re-connect your printer until you have reinstalled the software.

To verify that the software has installed properly, look for the HP Solution Centre on your desktop, double click on the icon and check that both "scan picture" and |"scan document" are showing.

Hope that helps!

Scanner will not scan to the computer!!! :-(

If you need to scan to the PC you need to use the Epson Scan software installed from the installation CD. If this is not installed then download it from your Epson web site. If when you try to use the software you get error messages then please let me know and I will be happy to assist further. I will need to know what os you are running though.

Software downloaded and still will not scan

have you installed the TWAIN drivers? the easiest way to get the printer to scan is to use the software that came with the printer, if you have the CD put it in your computer and follow the instructions to load the scanner software, this will automatically install the TWAIN drivers for you.
