You might have a slight problem. In order for photos to work properly, you have to have the Philips Device Plug-In installed - it ONLY came with the installation CD, and Philips never posted it in their website. If you download the Plug-In, the photos should display properly.

Is philips compatable w mac?

Hi Colombianamo,

If you're trying to connect your device to your system, please be advised that Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player is not compatible with Mac systems. The disk utility will not see it as a mountable driver.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My gogear is showin "list empty" though it has all the songs .

Try going back to an older version of Media Player. Probably version 9. Then remove and reinstall everything. The newer versions of Media Player don't "get along" with the GoGear.

Hdd6330 claims "empty list"'s not

Run a Repair in the Philips Device Manager (note: the HDD6330 is not compatible with Windows Vista or with Windows Media Player 11 - pluggging the device into a computer with either of these installed will ruin the player, even though it may work initially).

Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager: - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab

When i insert my player in the computer it doesnot open it shows it as a removable disk and i canotformate it

Oh, you want to format it? So it may cause problems. However, to delete everything, right-click it and choose Format...

To add songs, you can sync it with Windows Media Player. Have songs on that first.

I can not figure out how to put pictures on my philips mp3 player????????

have you tried draggin and dropping the pictures into your mp3player's disk (pops up in My Computer when you plug in you player). try looking around for a photos folder in it or something like that.
if all this fails, I would suggest reading you mp3player's instructions...

Frozen screen

The fault could be down to firmware or a faulty hard disk.

First of all, install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Connect the player to the power supply and PC.

If the player is recognised by the PC, select the repair/restore option in Philips Device Manager, and follow the on-screen prompts.
This will format the player and re-load the firmware. NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL TRACKS ON THE PLAYER.

If this doesn't help, or the player is not recognise, then the following might work:

Download the factory software from the following link:

Unzip the file to a new folder on your desktop, and open the folder to show the installation files and folders.

Connect the HDD6330 to the power supply and the PC. Before the HDD6330 registers on the PC, press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER ON] to reset the player.
As soon as the player resets, press and hold [VOL-], until PC recognises the player as a removable drive.
Player will show the connection icon on screen but without the bar and battery indicator at the top of the screen. You may need to try this several times to get it right.

When the player shows as "GOGEAR" or "MDJUKEBOX", right click on the drive from My Computer and click format. Click on "Quick Format" and complete the process.
If the player does not allow you to access or format the hard disk, then the disk is probably faulty.

Copy ALL of the files from the new folder exactly as they are (not including "New Folder", into the HDD6330.
When the copy process has completed, safely remove the HDD6330 from the PC, but leave connected to the power.

The player will restart and eventually show "Burn Success"

Press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER ON] to reset the player. The player will restart as normal, and hopefully go into the main menu.

If this still doesn't work, but the process worked ok and the player still froze on "Loading" then the PCB is probably the cause.

You can obtain a replcement from
They are not listed on the site, but they definitely have them available. Unfortunately, they don't have the PCBs for the HDD6330.
Go to the about us page and contact them by phone or e-mail.

As soon as the player resets, release VOL+ & POWER ON, and quickly press and hold VOL--

Keep hold untyil the PC registers the player.

If all is ok the HDD6330 will show as a Rmovable Drive n:

Check that you can access the files on the player, if so the problem lies with the PC or connection.

"List is empty"

Try putting the pics into the HDD6330 via My Computer/drag and drop. Windows Media Player doesn't work very well.
