When taking a picture screen is black but lights up the picture after it is taken

Is this a DSLR (interchangeable lenses) or a point-and-shoot? A DSLR doesn't show the image until the photo is taken, and then only for a short (often selectable) period of time.

Camera still takes pictures but LCD screen remain black(lit, differnet from when screen is off) at all times. Batteries are fully charged.

Please make sure to check if the battery is fully charged. Second, check the menu option for battery saving mode and turn it off. If the battery is getting old and not charging fully anymore the priority of the camera is the shooting mode.

My coolpics s6 has a black screen when in picture taking mode - as if the lens is not open. icons display, and show pictures mode works ok.

Switch on the screen in setup. The screen is now in 'power saving' mode and does not lit up while taking pictures.

Display screen is black

I've been told it's the LCD Screen. I have a new LCD screen but now can not find any instructions to change it out. It is not in the manual. I wish I could help. And this sight appears to be complete useless.

Canon powershot s21s problem

The symptoms are indicative of a CCD imager failure. But you can sometimes jog it back by trying the following:

If the above works, recommend taking a photo at least once a week in a well-lit area to keep it running.

Takes photo but black screen

Are you sure the camera is set so the LCD (the screen) is lit? Check if the EVF (electronic viewfinder) is working. At the right of the screen, you will find two buttons on top of each other. Press the top one once or twice and see what it does.
