Question about HP dc7700 PC Desktop

1 Answer

I just received this item from ebay, but Iam having some trouble to get video signals to the monitor. The seller says I need to remove a video card from the computer, which I can't see. I have removed the cover panel, and still can't find anything like it. what do I have to do to fix the problem.

The video card will be in the slot that your monitor plugs into..sometimes there is also on-board video memory which means the video card is soulder to the motherboard. That one you cannot remove...Not sure why he/she is telling you this but that is where it is..

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. It needs a monitor. I tried new ones from Best Buy and Office Max but they say no signal when I hook them up..I tried this computer with monitor in the following

Thank you for replying,
As per the diagnostic LED's, it is an issue with Video initialization failure. Your computer has onboard Graphics which is built into the Motherboard.
Video Initialization failure could happen if there is :
Unseated AGP card
Bad AGP card
Bad motherboard

As per your Svc Tag your system doesn't have AGP Graphics Card, Probable issue with MOBO.
This computer doesn't have a AGP Slot (Graphics Card Slot) to try connecting Graphics Card.
Need to repair/replace MOBO.

Thanks.

Monitor say RGB no signal?

If the monitor works with other computer then the video card in the computer where the monitor does not work is bad. You need to replace the video card. If the video card is on the motherboard, just replace it with a video card that fits into one of the PCI slots. If you were using VGA then purchase a PCI VGA Video Card.

Please check the cable that connects the monitor to the video card. Reseat the cable, the issue might be a loose connection. You can also try a known good monitor to isolate if it's the video card or monitor that is causing the problem. Something is preventing the monitor from receiving signals from the video card, hence the "no signal" message.

I have a HP Pavilion A6403W, when I turn on the monitor the message comes up on the screen VGA input no signal and DVI no signal then it goes to sleep. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE

The monitor is telling you that it's NOT receiving a signal from the video card connected to your computer. Check the cable that goes from Monitor to Computer. Make sure it's secure. If it's secure, I would recommend you re-seating the video card, just make sure you remove power from the computer and you ground yourself. If you are not comfortable doing this, then I would recommend visiting a local mom and pop computer shop and have the technician take a quick look, should only take about 5 minutes for a decent tech to diagnose the cause.

Hope this info helps!

I have acer aspire series computer for 2 years.one day when i open my computer my monitor display no signal what are the reasons

Hi! it means that the monitor is not picking any signal from the tower or computer.Check all physical cables first esp the video cable from the monitor to the tower.Check if the computer has power by checking lights, sound coming of the machine. Check if monitor cable is securely plugged in to the vga or hdmi port.If you are using a adapter for that cable try to directly plugin the cable without using the adapter. If still no signal, check if you have a external video card or internal.if you have a external video card and thats the one that youre using then remove the external video card(you need to open up the tower and physically remove the external video card) and connect the video cable to the onboard card then check if will get a signal.hope this helps...

If you monitor is showing the message no signal this means that the monitor is not receiving a signal from your computer and/or receiving a signal that it does not understand. So the first thing I would do...

hi ,
check the pins in the monitor plug as they can be bent , and also check your mointor is set to accept an input from your lead ( serial/hdmi etc )
Some monitors have a built diagnostic which is often colour bars , if your monitor shows this then its almost certainley a lead problem

hope this helps

Installed new video card but the signal remains black

REMOVE THE CARD AND UNINSTALL THE VIDEO CARD IN ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS. THEN REMOVE VIDEO CARD AND INSTALL DRIVERS THEN INSTALL YOUR VIDEO CARD. I HAVE THIS SAME VIDEO CARD AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET IT TO WORK. ALSO YOU NEED TO DISABLE THE VIDEO CARD THAT IS ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD. YOU CAN DO THIS IN CONTROL PANEL. ADMINASTRATIVE TOOLS THEN CLICK COMPUTER MANAGEMENT THEN CLICK DEVICE MANAGER GO TO YOUR DISPLAY DRIVERS AND DISABLE YOUR GRAPHICS CONTROLER. THAT SHOULD DO IT. HAPPY NEW YEAR.

No signal on monitor when powered up 3 long beeps

Hey there,

Beeps generally point to RAM, this would also be why the monitor has no signal as the computer wouldn't be POSTing. I'd suggest reslotting the RAM and if this doesn't work then swap out the stick with a new one :)

Borrow another monitor from a friend and try that one. If it does the same thing with the second monitor then it is more likely the sound card.

Monitor not recieving signal

Have you tried a different Monitor with the PC?

Sounds like a Video card problem. Try a different Monitor that you know works with it. If you have the same problem try removing the video card from the PC and then put it back in. Make sure it fully seats into its slot, if the slot has a flipcatch at the back of it make sure that swings up and locks into the notch on the video card. If there is a power connector on the video card make sure that it is plugged in.

If you try these and you still have a problem, please post a comment here, so I can further help you

Hope this helps
