Won't work I pluged the web cam in to the USB and it said it was ready to use. But when I went to my web cam it says it's not connected. I also have Vista is that a problem? The web cam that I have is a Phillips SPC110NC Web Camera.

Gateway webcam

Dear Tori,
Greetings from New Zealand! You have not supplied much info - so we'll start from the beginning...SAFELY Remove web-cam connection - (I presume it is a USB connection?) - by R-clicking on the little icon - usally green - in the systray by the clock, & following instructions. Have you installed the web-cam "driver" software from the cd that came with the web-cam? If not then do so. Plug in web-cam USB & wait until pop-ups notify you that web-cam device is detected & ready to use. L-Click on "START" > All Programs > Web-cam program.
If this option does not work/is not available, then OPEN "My Computer" & click on web-cam icon. This should start web-cam software & you SHOULD see your smiling face on screen!
If Nothing works - then you will have to make a note of the model & contact Gateway for support.
I hope that this helps! GBU! - Bruce.

Pluged in web cam worked 1 day took photo fro skype went back next day pluged in web cam a blue light flashes but nothing ?

Remove your webcam and un-install the driver from the PC. Perhaps it is possible that the driver had gone corrupt and so will need a reinstallation. Please install the drivers again and connect the webcam when prompted on the PC. If there is no picture then the fault can be due to a faulty webcam which can be checked and confirmed on another PC. Make sure the drivers downloaded are good, if not repeat the process with a new download.

I pluged in cam and id doesnt work , do i need to find the instalation cd?

Yes. You should unplug the web cam, install the drivers from the CD and it will then prompt you to insert the USB cable for the webcam when it's ready for it.

Just plugging in the camera generally will not make it work.
