When it is like that you usually need to replace the drum bearing.

Ifthe tub recently started making a lot of noise, and you can feel thatthe bearing had too much play when spinning by hand, that means thatthe drum bearing needed to be replaced.

You can find the replacement part and the schematics here.

My dryer is a model number GLER341AS2 and when I turn it on it makes a sreeching noise. Now the screeching has turned into a louder noise almost like a rubbing thud.

The symptoms you describe indicate that your dryer drum bearings are faulty: there is usually a large 'felt' bearing around the opening which support the drum and prevent metal to metal contact (screeching noises)- The drum must be removed to get to this front bearing (which is normally glue to the dryer front panel at the drum opening): it is not a trivial job and is not normally replaceable by end-users.

Hope the explanation helps.

Hi, My Hotpoint CTD00 Condenser Tumble dryer makes a thudding sound with every revolution, sometimes it sounds like a pair of trainers are in there! What could be the problem?

Could be a worn drive belt, or more likely to be a worn rear drum bearing, common prob with dryers, you need to remove top cover, and look for anything obvious.

LG DLE2514w electric dryer has loud thud every turn

Hi,
Most model dryers are supported at thge rear of the drum with a bearing configuration, but usually the front of the drum is supported by some lining pads or guides. These help hold the rotation of the drum concentric. It sounds like your drum is not spinning concentric. My guess would be that some new guides might need to be installed.
Hope this helps...

Heavy thumping noise with the turning of the drum

sounds like your rear bearing is bad, look in the rear center of your drum. for a crome pop out plug. Pop it out with a flat srew driver
there will be a nut that holds the drum in. take that nut off and you can lift the drum right out the front of your dryer. the front cover pops off after you take out the 2 screws from the lower front panel.

Makes a loud clunk once per drum revolution. There is a mark on the outside of the drum and I think it's hitting the motor housing. Could this be the drum bearing? Is it worth repairing? It is a IS60V

Hi, What brand is this and model #? It does sound like a bearing or rear roller has gone bad. Yes it will be worth fixing. I cam help you. Please let me know.

Thanks

The dryer heats fine but when the drum turns it makes a loud clinking sound like a bearing is going.

I have a Heavy Duty - 5 cycle dryer that is squeeking. We've taken it apart and found that it's not the belt but something towards the back end of the drum. Would there be a gasket of some kind that has...

Could be a dry rear drum bearing, if it has a removable rear panel, unscrew it and spray the end of the drum shaft and bearing with Wd40 or similar.
