i personally dont like short cuts or those who take short cuts, its called diagnostics which means no short cuts, do your homework and everyone is happy that simple.

I dont ask any more than what I would do, its called being thorough.

To all of you who are really trying thank you for those who are just shooting in the dark and causing problems, you are the ones who give techs a bad name all around.

What operating system do you have?
this problem can be solved from the bios, reset it to defaults and restart. if that doesnt help try going back to bios and go to advanced settings of pci ports and play with setting there.

It sounds as if you are trying to run an AGP and a PCI card at the same time. If this is the case you won't be able to do that. If the radeon is built into the board, you can only use a pci, or PCIE. The only way you can use the pinnicle is in a different motherboard or to disable the video on the motherboard, and try the PCI slot again, it may or may not work

Ok calm down, the computer is treating them both as "video cards", it doesn't know the difference. Someone should have mentioned that to you. Just try this "indulge me", go into the device manager, and disable the onboard graphics. Then restart using the tunercard as the only card. see if it works then.

Sometimes you cannot use two cards that need shared memory at the same time, you may need to replace the video card.

It is not a matter of motherboard, it is the cards.

When a card uses shared memory, it means that this is reserving the first block of your ordinary computer RAM for its use.

Two cards with shared memory will cause troubles to each other , and often do not work at same time.

Buy a different video card with built in memory and disable the built in video card.

You need a video card like this one:Evga e-GeForce 6200 256 MB DDR AGP Graphics Card ...
    With his own memory chips.

If you are using an AGP card , what is your AGP card please, from first description there was no mention to your AGP card.

assigning irq (interrupt request) to pci slots wont have any influence to use of shared memory.

    Thanks for your collaboration.

I will answer within 24 hours.

    Many thanks.

Need a good video card upgrade for my HP a6658f... one that will fit in the space provided and not require too much power (300 watt power source). The original is starting to go, and I would like to...

Your system has, from factory a Benicia #IPIBL-LB motherboard and has a PCIe x16 slot. You could go with any card PCIe x16 that is within your power range. I personally like the Gigabyte, Asus, Radeon HD cards because you can get sound and audio out of the card, unlike the Nvidia cards. The card you would more than likely be looking for would be a midrange card going anywhere from 40.00 to 90.00. There are many to chosse from but, I would get one that is Windows 7 or at least Windows Vista ready. This AMD's site and this card would work for you. It requires
300w supply and would do a good job.
