Music on the hard drive but wont show up in music files.

I was playing my music last night when my player just shut down. It was plugged in and everything but each time I turned it on it kept shuting down. When I finally gotit to charge up via usb cable and went to my music it read EMPTY, no matter what music file I went to it read empty, but when I went down to my hard drive and clicked it there was all my music. so now I can only play one song at a time when im playing it from hard drive mode. I even deleted the music from my archos and then connected it backto my computer to re load my music and it still reads empty. How do I fix this problem.

I have the same problem plus my pc does not see my Archos anymore. It worked as it should for 11 months and now I cannot put any new media on it and I can only play one track at a time.

Archos have been ABSOLUTLEY NO HELP WHAT SO EVER.I have contactacted them five time via their help desk service and they have just ignored the information I have given them.

I used to rant about my Archos player to everyone, now its the worst thing I have bought,I will be going back to Creative now as they have provided EXCELLENT back up cover for their products I have had in the past.I am totaly frustrated with an item I paid a large amount of money for and which the manufacturer is providing NO back up cover at all.

It has to be synchronised with windows media player, just like an ipod does with iTunes. Hope this helped, it worked for me.

How do i download music on my mp3 player?

Hi

Well it all depends on what you want to do. Do you want to take the music from a cd and put it on your Mp3 player, or do want to directly download music tracks from the internet on to your Mp3 player. If you want to get music from a cd onto your Mp3 player, you will first need copy your cd with windows media player or another cd playing software. You will need to change the format into "Mp3" format by "ripping" it. "Ripping" a CD is basically copying music to your computer.
After you have the files properly formatted on your hard drive, you can remove the drive from your mp3 player and plug it into a "usb" port on your computer. You then go to your hard drive, find the files you copied, making sure they are in the proper format, and then move them to the drive of your Mp3 player.

OK lets say you want to download music directly from the internet. You need to see if any special software is required to assist in the downloading process. Normally you wont need any. You just hook up your device to a "usb" port, go to your settings and look for "usb mode" or connect. With some devices you wont need to do anything, because they will automatically be detected as a removable hard drive.

Next you will need to find out where the files will be stored. Depending on which music download vendor you choose, some will allow you to buy one track at a time, if this is the case you can download one track and see where on your device the file was stored, and then proceed to buy further tracks and choose the same location to store them. If not, the files can be stored in different locations and the device will find them once you disconnect from the port.

Downloading music to your Mp3 player is easy and fun. Depending upon the capacity of your Mp3 players hard drive or flash drive you can store hundreds of music tracks, giving you hours of listening pleasure. Once you download music for the first time you will find out how easy it is. You can visit my web site, and choose from a variety of the top music download vendors, many offering free music.

Thanks.

Two problems 1)My sansa clip shut down on its own and when I turned it back on all files were erased. When plugged into the computer the media player still showed 3/4 of the memory still used on the clip...

Its not usles, you can delete the files while on the computer. After having in plugged in you can access it like a flash drive. Then you can open the music folder and delete as you will. Depending on what kind of files you have on it, its possible that i wont recognize the format of the file. I think though from what you've said that it did work, and then stopped playing songs that worked before. So I don't know what to do about that. I don't use the normal way of loading songs onto my Sansa clip MP# player though. I just dump all of my songs via direct transfer into the music folder in the player itself

Wont go pass the frot screen then it always turns off

Last night I replaced my battery and my unit would not go any further than the Pearl logo. So this morning I downloaded the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2556, and followed all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you start the program:

start the program,
remove the battery,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button the the term "initalizing"

replaces "searching",
click the start button to replace the firmware.

Note: when I tried this last week to fix the aac error message, it did not fix the problem with some music files. After following these steps today, plus making sure the format data box was selected, I can now play the troublemaking files without errors.

Uploading songs onto the Missil flashMP3 player

Drivers required only for Win98. Other versions on Windows have drivers installed. Plug usb cord into PC and into Missil Player. Open my computer, removable disk which is the Missil player) and file where desired music is. Drag music from storage file to "removable disk in "my computer". Treat it as a hard drive copy to, delete or format. To continue playing where you left off when restarting, hold off/pause button down for 3 seconds before shutting off.

TrekStor emo won't show or play mp3 or WMA files.

I had the same problem. The solution for me was that the files on my computer hard drive were set to play on the realplayer format. Once I changed the format to play on the windows media format, it started saving to the Emo. I hope this helps you.

Not playing music

No Music Files Problem solved
Plug the MP3 player to PC
In Windows XP open Windows Explorer and navigate to one of the music files
Try to play the file in Windows
If it fails, unplug player and once the player switches off carry out a reset
Reconnect player to PC and repeat the process described above
You may need to repeat this several times until the music file plays in Windows.
After this format the player using Windows XP
Select the removable hard drive, right click and select format
Choose Fat32, enter a volume label (for example GMP33005) and select quick format
If formatting fails try several times
Once format is succesfull reload your music files using the software that came with the player
Be careful not to exceed 2.5 or 2.6 GB (leave some free space as this might be needed for the player to work)
The player should now play the music files correctly
