This seems like a language issue. You need to go to control panel, regional settings and check each tab for language chosen. THis should solve your problem.

How do i get a question mark on my keys instead of an e with a mark over it

Hi there, Your keyboard has been changed from English to French Canadian by the sounds of it! Go down to your task bar and on the right side look for the keyboard icon or two letters. Click on that icon, and select US instead of what is selected right now. You're looking for something like this if you're on XP - http://www.mirecki.us/computing/language/LangBar1.jpg It will be on the right side, to the left of the icons and the arrow to "show more". If you don't see the keyboard icon, right click on the task bar, go to Toolbars, and select "language bar". You should then see the keyboard or letters.
If you're still having troubles, comment back and I'll be sure to help! Cheers, Alex

When i am typing @ cant instead @ the letter is " please help

The keyboard is set up wrongly or the laptop isn't one set up for your country.
If you get " when typing @ try typing SHIFT and 2 for the @ symbol.
You can change keyboard settings in Control Panel.

On my Toshiba Satellite Pro M15-S405, i would push a certain letter on the keyboard and instead of typing that letter, it would make a window pop up. Is there some kind of setting that i can change to...

Your windows key (the one with the flag) appears to be blocked. Try pressing them both (or 1, if you only have 1) once, see if the keys work again. If not, try taking the keys off the keyboard (just put somthing under them and pull) and put them bac on. If that doesn't help either, you will have to have your keyboard replaced.

Hp mini keyboard shift key 2 does not type @

it has to do with your keyboard setting, currently you are set to the united kingdom keyboard layout, you will need to change this to Unite States settings assuming that you got vista, you will need to do the following

goto control panel
click on regional and language option (there will be a pop up)
click on the keyboard and languages tab
click on the change keyboard button (another pop up will appear)
click on add
and add the United States Keyboard
change the keyboard setting on the upper drop down menu to United States, and then click ok.....this should solve your problem.

Symbols

You hit a keystroke combination. You'll have to press the Fn key in the lower left side of your keyboard and one of the special function keys (in a HP, I think it's something like F11 or F12--look at the symbols on the keyboard. Anyway, that combo locks the special characters on. Just hit it again to get back to normal typing.

Compaq Presario C700 numbers showing up instead of letters

Either address your "Num Lock" Key keyboard or your "Fn" Key on your keyboard. Either of these, or a combination of both should solve the issue.

Keyboard don-t show the correct symbols

Your keyboard setting in Control panel regional and language options is probably set to US International.
This option allow you to create every special character using combined keys see this page for MS instruction>
If you have a localized keybord (Portuguise, Brazilian or else) you can get the symbol corresponding with keys if you configure the exact keyboard instead of US international.
Of course for same language you can configure multiple keybord.
You can also use for every language the On screen Keyboard you get in Start/program/accessories/ accessibility
