Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

1 Answer

I have an iRiver Model H10 (20 Gb with AM/FM radio) that has been my companion since before ipods took over the market. However, with each recharge I get less playtime - down to about 1.5 hours at best now. I prefer to fix rather than add to the landfills with discarded electronics. I assume I need to replace the battery. Is this something I can do? Where do I get the replacement battery? Musicless in DT San Diego.

Hi,

You are right the battery is a goner. As for the replacement the process is pretty easy. Just unscrew the back, pop the old one out and install the new one. One thing you need to check before changing the battery are the specifications. Most mp3 players have around 3V and 900-3000mAH. SO thats the only thing you need to check before you order a replacement.

Hope that helps,
Sai.

Icant listen to fm radio

The antenna for this and many other MP3 players is the wire for the headphones. If your using a short aux cable between say this player and a dock or speaker it may not be functioning as the worlds best antenna.

How to I use the stock radio amp to run an ipod?

Hi,
You can use any of the following methods
  1. Connecting the iPod via headphone jack
All you need is a simple Y cable, which is available from any home-electronics store. Connect the small plug to the headphone output of your iPod--or any portable audio player. Then connect the red and white RCA-style plugs to the matching inputs on the back of your stereo receiver or boombox.

  2. Connecting the iPod via iPod dock
To connect using the iPod dock, you first need to purchase an iPod dock accessory. Using the same type of Y cable, connect the small plug to the matching jack on the rear of the iPod dock. Then, plug the red and white RCA-style plugs to the matching inputs on the back of your stereo receiver or boombox. This method provides a line-level connection that maintains a volume level to your stereo system and allows the iPod to recharge.

  3. Connecting the iPod via wireless FM transmitter
You can also connect your iPod to your stereo wirelessly. You'll need to purchase a compatible wireless FM transmitter--there are several available--and connect it your iPod. Once your transmitter is connected, simply tune any nearby radio to the correct frequency, and you'll be listening to your own iPod-powered mini radio station.

Thanks for using Fixya

Iriver e10 how to record radio

http://www.osnews.com/story/17860/Review:_The_OGG-Compatible_iRiver_E10

After you long press the right arrow button the special menu appears: Record, Saved FM Recording, FM Recording Quality, Save Preset, Stereo/Mono, Auto preset, Tuner region. The FM Radio works very well, it has amazing reception compared to cellphones with FM support, but it won't continue playback while you are reading a text file. You must stay in the FM app to have it activated.
