We have a Maytag Neptune Washer MAH5500BWW. The electronics are sporatic and have a mind of their own, won't respond to buttons, will jump to another cycle, time, etc. Serviceman indicated it needed a new "motherboard", (machine board control), and would cost over $450.00 to replace with no garantees that another problem might arise. We have changed the belt already. Can I purchase this motherboard and replace it myself with any assurance that we might get 2 more years from this machine? or Should we purchase another set in hopes of getting a better machine that will last more the 7 years? Please advise and would love a recommendation on a new machine. Barry

Let me be clear on what you stated. You are not recommending to replace the motherboard because there is not a garrantee. You are recommending to purchase a new machine instead. Do you have a recommendation on the model and make of a new maching?

No go for new machine its not worth to get the mother board as it does not have any garrantee for the board.
