Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP7410 All in One has no activity and won't turn on

The printer stays on the the HP logo with but has not activity.  Can't use copier, scan or printer.  The device won't turn off using the on button. The print cartridge generally will adjust when the printer is on, but I have no activity.  Is the printer in "on" mode?

    I would like more detail.  My first instinct was to reinstall the drivers etc.  However, because I can't get the printer to pass the HP Logo, I don't think I can reset the printer at all.  None of the buttons on the printer have any activity.  If I unplug the printer power cord, the printer turns off but the off button on the printer does not work.  Your suggestion that it might be the bulb makes sense.  I have owned the printer for a number of years and never had to change the bulb.  I am willing to try anything.  I have never experienced any problems with printer in the past.  I use my Airport to connect my computers via WiFi and it works perfectly.

Try this "partial" solution; it's worked for nearly everone who's tried it. Unfortunantly, you lose your wireless capabilities, but at leat you're not left with a $500 paper weight:

Hi,
This solution is for "older" R-series All-in-One's but it may be your solution as well. You may be experiencing a situation in AllN1's called "SCANNER SYSTEM FAILURE" where the scanner bulb may be weaker than it appears by naked sight and doesn't meet system power requirements to "pass" as good to go and thereby is passing to the printer a failure condition. In the R-Series AllN1's the ultimate solution was a bulb replacement. Which surprisingly is not as intimidating as it may sound if you might want to tackle the problem on a do it yourself basis. Are you trying to scan from Printer to PC or Activating SCan option from PC ?

On your PC, Open Solution Center
Click on Settings option below
You will find Scan document options - select it
you will find the Size of paper set, Change it to Letter

I would suggest the app Print Burea
its kind of expensive($20)
works with i think all printers i thinki have not had any problems so far

Hp7410 Wont turn on and function, power light doesnt come on and the HP Invent Logo keeps cycling on and off


you might want to check to see if the wireless for this machine is connected to main pcb, if so, disconnect, you will have to pull off the back of the machine, requires #10 torq bit, cable is a 4 wire cable, it travles from right of machine to left of machine, the only other cables that travel from right to left, is speaker cable, only 2 wire, and then the doc feed cable, which has 8 to 10 wires on it. if problem still continues, then main pcb will need to be replaced.

It has been left overnight and continues to display the logo and cycling 3 lights.
Rear DC Cont Fan is turning. No other fans or activity with machine.
When ADF/scanner/mfp or hard disk are disconnected it does recognise this and throws an error and asks for reboot.
I have tried cold reset, nvram init. and hard disk init. but no difference.
Your thoughts?

My hp7410 will not go on past the hp invent screen even though it is plugged in and was working


disconnect from the power source - ie surge protector or power strip and connetc it direct to the wall outlet

I moved my hp7410 all in one and now its booting up but wont stop booting up

I am not sure about that problem.
However if the printer has an ethernet connection, you should be able to and xp should find it. If the printer does not have ethernet connection you need to check with the router manufacture.

Hi cbarsetti, I would suggest you update your printer drivers, try this, follow instructions exactly as written:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop(watch for the light yellow bar at the top of window viewing pane, click on this and choose – download file - . Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.
