Paradigm LCR-350 Speaker

Paradigm or Pinnacle??? Advise please!

By Charlie - usenet poster

Aloha all,

I currently run in my HT the following:

(4) Paradigm Mini-monitors for front and rear
(1) LCR-350 for the center
(1) PS-1000 sub
HK AVR-85 receiver
Sony ES300 DVD

Now, I am interested in getting a set of Pinnacle Gold Reference series
speakers (the whole HT set as described on #). Is
this a good move? The problem is that I don't have a Pinnacle dealer in
my state (Hawaii), and I'd be buying "sound unheard". I know this is bad
practice, but their stuff, spec-wise, is exactly what I'm looking for.
Can anybody give me their opinion on these?

Thanks a bunch!
K-Man

Like one of the previous responders stated, whats wrong with what you have ? I
have a Paradigm system & love it (have reference Studio-20's for mains, Ref 450
center, Mini monitor for rear & PS-1000 sub. I compared with lots of brands
(didnt test with pinnacle) and found nothing better for my price.

If you want to upgrade, why not enhance the particular component that your
disenchated with, say upgrade your mains to paradigm reference series or a
higher end monitor series etc. That way you save money & should be able to off
your old component(s) fairly easy.

Hi,
I can only tell you that I bought a pair of Pinnacle AC-650's via mailorder
based on their specs alone. At the time, I had to choose between approx. 6
types of speakers. I ordered the Pinnacles and never looked back.
They sound great. Not the most attractive things(a tough task for most
speakers!) but the sound is excellent.

Bass response is outstanding for a speaker it's size. I can only imagine the
Gold series as being better.

I am of the opinion that Pinnacle is one of the more under rated speakers out
there.
