The 1st RAM slot is under the keyboard. This slot has a RAM module installed when you purchase the laptop. The 2nd RAM slot is on the bottom of the laptop. Without going into the web and searching for your model a quicker way to find out what's exactly in your system is to download a little program called belarc ....run it on the laptop and it will give you all the info on your particular model ....from ram to the make of your hard drive . you can get this by either using google or go to majorgeeks and download from there.
Assuming you are in XP: Start in safe mode and either try to fix your Configuration (did you installed anything conflicting with you WLAN card?) or simply disable the card from your configuration in Control panel, system, Hardware tab, Device manager Check if an updated driver exists for your card: latest SP3 is sometime conflicting with older device drive.
