hey i have the same problem with the hp pavillion 6000. It is one of the most unreliable computers in the world but i guess thats another discussion... I have a 2g memory card that will only be recognized if i restart the computer and put it in then... Once you eject it though it wont recognize it. HP needs to get their **** together and stop ripping people off.
Normally plug and play those cards,
do you have software for the card reader device?
I plugged mine into my camera it auto recognised straight away
as for your device card reader ,try to reinstall again
if the card works in your camera
Another idea is to put card into your camera and use a usb lead for the photo movements to the pc
same applies if its a cellphone
this happens due to some restirction on the memory card i faced the same problem all you have to do is just copy the pic on to the laptop or on any other laptop and then you can format this card however before u format copy the pic as it will delete the data from the card .
i did the same as did not work on my hp laptop and worked on lenovo laptop for my phone memory it is also called as registry problem of the memory card .
thanks try it out and please let me know
Some tape can help that! I had the same problem with a Memory Stick PRO Duo. You can see photos of the fix here: http://lloydandlauren.com/2008/11/21/getting-a-memory-stick-pro-duo-out-of-an-acer-aspire-one
