Re: Unlock HP Laptop
It depends on the login type.
Most company laptop are connected to the company's network and the user login is into their network. If it is only a Windows user login then this can be reset with a password recovery program, its not available to the average user.
The best bet is to reinstall Windows, this will wipe clean the hard disk and give you a laptop with a fresh clean Windows XP installation which will give you less problems.
You can do it yourself, if not get a computer savy friend to help you.

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/http://22.214.171.124/
Forgot hp password ?Unlock hp name? You can also remove windows password? There are two methods to remove the password when you forgot the password. Method 1: Remove windows password with Windows built-in Administrator account Firstly, you start your locked computer as usual and press"Ctrl+Alt+Delete"twice when the Login Screen shows.Secondly, you just typeAdministratorin the username box and leave the password box blank. Thirdly, you hitEnterkey and then log into Windows system. Finally, you go to"Start->Control Panel->User Accounts"to find the inaccessible user account and then remove its password there. If the above method can not help you, you can use some windows password recovery software to help you, such as Windows Password Recovery Tool, i ever used to help me , it can help you finishwindows password remover
You have to unlock the hard drive from within BIOS if you don't want to see that screen again. However, if you don't know that password then the laptop is not going to usable by you. Normally this prevents access to a computer in case someone steals it, since the thief won't know the hdd password and can't unlock it to access any data.
you got 2 things here: 1. pc shutting down unexpectedly 2. blue screen
1. the cause could vary: a. cpu overheating: make sure you are letting the laptop to breath, open/clean vents. b. motherboard failure: get a new laptop. c. battery failure: try to take the battery out and connect the laptop and test/replace the battery as needed.
2. blue screen: if it is a Blue Screen of Dead, try to note any error codes and post back or at this stage it could be virus: take the hd out, connect it to an enclusure and hook it up to another good computer and attempt to save the usuful data. then reinstalled hard drive in laptop and reinstall os. b. hadware failure: replace laptop.
on the password:
the only three possibilities where you may be asked for a password is if you're trying to access a password protected bios (which you rarely do with f8) or if you're accessing the recovery console in which you need to enter your windows user name and password or if you're accessing the computer in safemode in which you can enter any user name and their password or the user name: Administrator and for password it could be either blank or whatever password was set when windows was installed
When seeing the log on screen of the user, press
CTRL, ALT and Del a couple of times untill a box appears asking for user name and password.
In user name type: Administrator and leave the password field blank, this should allow you to get on and delete that account.
Hope this helped
If you mean the windows log in password?? the eaiest way is to use a program like "Active password Changer" there are several simaliar programs about, just do a google search.
Unfortunately you will probably have to pay for it.
