Where is the lint trap specifically - GE WCVH6260FWW

  • Anonymous Apr 07, 2013

my washer is not completing the spin cycle. i think it's because the lint trap needs to be cleaned out. I can't find it.

Remove the lower front panel using a Phillips screwdriver. You'll see a round "plug" there, just right of center. Unscrew it VERY SLOWLY, keeping a large bowl or bucket to catch the water. Be ready to screw it back in to empty the container, as there's a LOT of water there. Once it stops coming out, unscrew it and pull it out. Clean debris from the plastic filter and check inside to make sure it's all clear, then screw it back in snugly and replace front panel.

where is the lint trap specifically - b364bcbf-e570-41a5-b3fd-7fcd381c20d9.jpgThe lint filter is behind the lower panel, under the washer's door. Remove the three Phillips screws and locate the round white "plug" shown above. Be sure to have a bucket or large bowl to catch water, as there's a LOT of water in there. See my above comment posted June 29th.

Don't believe it has one. I have only noticed that when you open the door, at the very bottom rubber you can pull towards you and should find objects that at times we forget to take out of our clothing. Coins, Screws, ect. Also, you can remove the bottom plate which has two screws. Once you remove, on your right you will see a knob type of handle. Note: water will come out when removed. Unscrew and there you will find anything that has slipped through and hasn't gone into the pump.

My maytag washer MVWC6ESWW1 is redepositing lint or something on to the clothes. Does it have any filters or traps I need to check?

Washing machines vary by manufacturers and models and some don't have a lint trap. Lint pumps out of the washer with the water, during the drain and spin cycle, and goes down the drain.

Where is the trap?

You'll have to be a little more specific please. What kind of trap are you thinking of/referring to? Not aware of any type of "trap " on this model. Are you talking about some sort of lint trap? And what problem/s are you having with the washer (like what's it doing or not doing)?

I can't put the lint trap back into the slot it is supposed to be in. Have been using this dryer all day. I cleaned the lint trap out and it still won't slide back in. The lint trap is on top of dryer....

You probably have lint buildup inside the machine. try reaching inside it with a brush or something to clean it out. Also, it may be dusty, but run it for a few seconds with the lint trap out. That may blow the obstruction out.

Where is the filter?

Hi,
To find the filter you need to do the following steps. Find your lint trap. Lint traps in washing machines can be in the agitator (the large plastic piece in the center of the tub), at the top of the washer on the rim of the tub, or attached to the washing machine's drainage hose. Pull out the agitator tube to check for the lint trap. Peel any loose lint from the filter. Scrub away lint that doesn't peel off easily with a heavy-duty paper towel or a wet sponge. Feel your way around the top rim of the washing machine's basin. If you locate a trap, pull it straight out of the machine. Peel away loose lint and follow up with a wet sponge or heavy-duty paper towel. Check your machine's drainage hose for an attached lint trap. Remove the trap and peel the top layer of lint off. Rinse the trap in low-pressure, warm water. Reattach to the drainage hose. Check for and remove any lint or debris that may have dropped into the washing machine basin during the cleaning.

Lint is massing toward the bottom of the lint trap

please check your exhaust vent, where the dryer air comes out of the house, this particular pattern is very indicitive of a slow moving exhaust, you may need to clean the duct between the machine and exhaust as well

Lint fell back into lint trap. how can i get it out? already looked in back.

An appliance store can sell you a brush that is attached to a long wire. It is made specifically for removing lint from dryers. I have seen them at walmart and other places but for sure at an appliance store. Good luck.
