I'm trying to recover my system, but everytime I push F11 to get to the System Recovery Manager, I get a repeating Beep.

That sounds like it might be "POST" code beeping out at you. If it goes beep beep beep (pause) beep beep (pause), or something like that, etc.... then it is definitely a POST code. It can be anything from a bad or unseated video card, to a loose memory DIMM card.

The computer's BIOS chip is hardwired to a dedicated speaker, if something goes wrong (like your video card is roached), it beeps out a series of beeps (not unlike Morris code). Check the manufacture's website, see what BIOS your model is using (AMI, PHOENIX, ETC..), and then look up their website to interpret the code you are getting. The computer Mfg.'s manual might also have that BIOS POST code information in it too.

Please give more detailed information about the beeping sequence. Like, does it ONLY beep after pressing the F11 key once, or because your holding it down (keyboard buffer is full then). Are the beeps continuous, or are their pauses between beeps (if pauses, count number of beeps between pauses until it repeats, usually has a long pause before it repeats if BIOS POST CODE). Also, did something happen just prior to your computer going belly up, or did it just not want to turn on one day? Give as much information as possible (make, model, OS, etc) about your computer, and what its symptoms are. The more info I have, the better I can help you.

THE RED LIGHT IS ON AND BEEPS EVERY MINUTE

What motherboard do you have? If you don't know, provice make and model of your system and maybe we can find out that way. Is it one long beep? Are there any other beeps and/or a sequence. A good place to start and alot of times, depending on your bios, 1 to 3 beeps means a problem with the RAM(memory). If you have more than 1 stick, you can pull them out, restart and if the beep is the same, you've probably found your culprit. You can then insert one at a time in one of your slots, then restart. If this works, you've found a good stick. If not, try another slot and restart, etc. Try all sticks in all slots.

Makes loud alarm sound when it is booting up and scrolls up on its own

Hello there lmitche4.

Here's your geek-steer ...

Is the sound you're describing a "beep"/tone? In all likelihood it's yes. At bootup, beeps codes occur if the motherboad/BIOS encounters any error during the POST (Power-On-Self-Test) sequence. Unless just one single beep (all is well), these beeps alert you about, and to the nature of, a problem in need investative/corrective actions on your part.

Refer here and/or here for an index of beep-codes, then determine which beep sequence you're hearing. You'll first need to know which BIOS you have installed. You can determine this quite easily by hitting the "Pause/Break" key on your keyboard in order to freeze the screen at the initial part of bootup when this info is typically displayed.

Good luck, and please do post back to ...

When I go to turn on the computer, it just makes a beeping sound.

Beeping sound leting you something is wrong with some hardware. As for what,, listin to the beeps.. also depends on motherboard... here is a link http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

But best way is to open up machine and make sure all the hardware is hooked up tight. If that does work look at the code list then go from there.

Remove the 1 gig chip. Pull you battery out and unplug the laptop. Hold the power button in for 10 seconds. Put the battery back in and plug the laptop back in again and try booting it up. This should reset the BIOS and allow it to boot. The beep codes you are talking about are a memory beep code and it is normally caused by adding memory or a loose memory stick. Also try pulling the existing memory and resetting it.
