    I also have a M1210 with Windows 7 installed.
I used the Logitech webcam driver CD to install the drivers, but that crashed Windows 7.
It could be that it's because I installed the 64 bit one.

same problem - installed Windows 7 and the webcam driver does not work

I have Dell XPS M1210 PC Notebook with XP & Windows 7 RC1 installed (dual boot). While i have no problem with XP, there is a hissing noise just before log in screen appears and goes off soon after log in

Another problem that I have is that the builtin Logitech web cam is not working in W7 when it is working well in XP. In W7, the drivers are not properly get installed. The driver installation requires reboot for continuation of the install process. but after booting the install does not continue...and the web cam is not detected properly.

Hi,
I had this same problem as well... all you have to do is download the driver from Dell's website (go to dell.com -> support -> m1210 -> vista 32-bit), install the driver (get version 10.5.1), restart and then it still won't work. Then you have to:
1) Right click on my computer, and do manage 2) Go to the device manager and look for a missing device, and browse your computer for a driver 3) Pick C:\dell\drivers\R151795\Drivers\x32 as your folder 4) Click next and you're done! it'll work now
Good luck!

Yes. This solution works! Be careful and use the x32 folder as specified above. There is another x32 folder under "webcam". If you use that one, it doesn't work.

Windows 7 is the beta version and guess what - the webcam software is the same as your Vista version. If your unit is a pre vista model go to the Dell website and download the vista driver for your model _ webcam

How can i get the integrated camera driver for my dell XPS M1210 and recently i have installed windows 7

You need to goto the manufacturers website, find their support section and there should be a list of drivers for your specific machine. Installing these should resolve your problem. I have a list of links to most manufacturers drivers on my website.
Hope this helps,

Dell XPS M1210 Administrator password and password log on problem

This is a known vista issue where it creates a backup of your profile for some reason there registry edits to try and fix it but a system restore is much easier. Follow the below steps to solve problem.

Turned computer on and immediately pressed F8 repeatedly until I got "Advanced Boot Options" select "Safe Mode" computer then opens safe mode login as admin if possible, with a "Help" window, in the help window there is an underlined "What is System Restore?" then select "Click to open System Restore" restore to a previous state before which the fault occurred.
Click OK and after config changes should be good to go.
