Hello with have some problem with laserjet 2100 connected on netport. In some situation the jobs never goes out and stay in queue until we reset the netport / printer. we could not reproduce this situation... Thanks for your suggestions Regards - Vincent

We have similar problems when printing to a HPLJ 2100. Sometimes the printing hangs until we start a test print. It seems that a long idle time causes a break in communication.
Our workstations (Windows 2000 Prof.) are connected to Windows 2000 Server, that manages NetportExpress Pro.

Hi Vincent,
Exactly where is the print job staying? When you mention the 'queue,' is this on the host? Can you still communicate with the print server when this happens? Which OS/NOS are you using when this happens? Is this printer networkable? If there are some issues with this model printer and its functionality on a network connection, you may want to check this URL for suggestions:

Also make sure that the length of the printer cable is 6' (1.8m) or less and that the parallel port speed on the print server is set to what is appropriate for the attached printer(s).
