Question about Yamaha HTR-5730 Receiver
I have a Yamaha HTR-5730 receiver that went dead. The protection circuit activated. I replaced one of the STK403-130Y ICs and it comes on again. All the menues work fine also the tuner only nothing comes out, neither at the Phono output nor for the speakers. I tried everything but had no luck. Do you have any idea what the problem could be. I would appreciate any advise.

SOURCE: Yahama HTR-5730
Here's the manual; http://www.yamaha.ca/av/PDFs/Manuals/2004_receivers/HTR5730E.asp See if you find a solution in there - if not please ask again and we will see what we can do :)

You can connect the VX7 to the 5730 using an RCA Y cable like the one shown in the picture below. You get your one connection for the receiver and 2 for the VX7. These are available at any electronics store. Remember that the cable should be long enough to go from the receiver to where subwoofer will be placed.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

Solution on page 111 of the owner's manual:
"Connect the source component to the analog audio input jacks of this unit to play back the source in Zone 2 or Zone 3.
This unit does not output the audio signals input at the DIGITAL INPUT and HDMI jacks to the ZONE OUT jacks."
Basically you cannot use an HDMI input if you want to play in Zone 2 or 3. A simple solution is to add an extra audio cable from your PS3 audio output jack to an analog audio input jack on the receiver.
