Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I cannot scan an image to a PC with out ink?

I have the Kodak Easy Share 5500and it ran out of ink and it does not let me scan anything onto the computer because it has no ink. I just want to scan things to my computer it doesn't need ink for that!
Is there a way to change the options so that the scanner doesn't have to rely on ink?!

I'm so sorry, this is one of the many problems with this printer. You MUST buy ink, and there is NO way to get around this.

Koadak easy share all in one, won't print in bacl


Check the version of AiO software you are using. We had to re-install the Aio Kodak software yesterday because the print que did not register when I changed the ink cartridges. The AiO would scan, but the computer side still thought it was out of ink.

Perhaps the latest software will fix your problem too.

follow the step by step solution from kodak.

Choose All-in-one printer and then Print quality and follow the further steps. I think it's a problem with your printhead.

My kodak easy share 5300 has printing issues. I


Try this one, Turn on the printer, Take out the inks, remove the printhead, put back the printhead make sure it will snap and you hear a click, put the inks back, wait for the printer to initialize, Press the Menu button, look for Calibrate printer, then print calibration page, then scan it after. Load a regular paper. Then try to print a demo page by pressing Photo and Copy at the same for 5 seconds then let it go. If same problem persist call this no for further assistance 1800 421 6699

are getting any error msg like 1-2036 or anyother and are you using Vista or Xp,,,,try using the windows fax and scan settings....let me know and i will try and help you

Printer easy share 5300


Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
Right above where the black ink cartridge was, in the top left hand corner of the printhead, push up towards the ceiling and you should be able to push a button that releases the printhead.
Place the printhead right back into the printer and push straight back on the back wall.
You should hear a loud snap.
Replace the ink cartridges which should snap as well.
Close the printer.
After about a minute or so the printer will ask you to do a calibration.
Insert a paper and press start.
Scan the calibration sheet.
After that, in the menu, do a printhead clean.
Do one basic and one deep.
Print a demo sheet to see if anything has changed.
If the picture looks better, continue to do cleans.
In the event that it does not, the printhead will need to be replaced and since the printer is still under warranty, Kodak specialists will try to overnight you a printhead.
The whole process is short and free.

The black ink cartridge on my kodak easy share 5300 appears to be faulty. I have changed the cartridge and deep cleaned the print head as wel, any suggestions?


Depending on the issue, the solution may be just to replace the ink cartridge. If that does not work, try these steps:
