Question about NetGear WIRELESS-G WGR614 802.11G WIRELESS ROUTER ($20.00 M.I.RebateTill 06/30/2004) (NETWGR614)
Net is very slow and for every two minutes i'm resetting ie switch off and switch on the router is what i'm doing.
Did you reset your modem? Check if you connect your modem to the computer is the net still slow.
1.If not check the ip address typing in ipconfig in the command prompt
2.If you see 169.254.x.x. hard reset power cycle
3. Else type the default gateway address on the address bar to open your router set up page
4.See if the internet status says connected
5.On the left hand side under wireless you"ll see channel and ssid . Change channel to 6 or 11 which gives you the best signal strength. Click Rebbot
This should definately help.
6.If it still dosent work click dmz and put the ip address of your comp there .Click Rebbot
7.Ensure not to have any wireless devices near your router
Take care and do let me know
