Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have a Philips Fw-v537 VCD Mini Hifi System. This is not working now. I took it to the service center & it is powere on now. I am not able to open the System with regular Star Screw driver. What is the name of the screw driver for opening this system. It seems to be 6 pointer star. Sound is not coming in. The Service Guys are charging me a bomb to repair this system now.

    It could be a Torx bit you need. Be aware there is quite a variety of these around.

Need a remote for a PHILIPS Mini HiFi System

Try E bay as the remote is considered an accessory and are one of the first product to run out of supply. There is always the possibility that a person will sell one from either a shipping damaged unit or one that could not be repaired but the remote still works.

Can mp3,ipod connect to philips FW-R7 with cd

All you need to get them to play is a "dock" and a 3.5mm Jack to two RCA phono plugs lead.
The Jack goes into the headphone output and the RCA's go into any spare socket on the back of the unit IE tape/cd.
Infact you just need the lead, plug it into the headphone output of the Ipod or MP3 player. But the dock will keep the battery charged and you get a remote with the dock, so you don't need to get out of your chair, to operate the player.

Tape deck door problem

The mechanism would not have reset to allow the door to latch on. it could be a possible failure of the main/dirve belt. you will also have to check if the hinges are broken or if any freign particles have logged in. Removing the deck mechanism and changing thebelt will require a little expert work and so be very careful in removing.

Recording trouble

Hi again,

I understand. Must be a glitch somewhere. Anyways, I already posted possible solutions here your original posting/problem. They were:
1. Power on the Philips FW-R7, leave the left tray empty and closed. Open the tray and put in a recorded CD (not a CDR but a regular CD from your music collection), close the right tray. Wait a couple of seconds as the FW-R7 reads the CD. Now open the tray, remove the music CD and insert your CDR. The FW-R7 should read the CDR without the error message and record to the CDR from any source. Let me know if this works for you;
2. laser cleaning or realignment (would need a service center);
3. try using lower then 40X blank CDs.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
