Question about Google Chrome

Blank Screen appears when trying to install Google Chrome

I tried to download Google Chromes to my Dell Dimension 2350 desktop running Windows XP service pack 2 using IE 7. After downloading and clicking on the "run" button, after a couple of minutes my screen went to all grey and stayed that way. Tried hitting the ESC button, nothing happened. Had to turn off the computer to restart it. When I went to Google support site for Chrome, they didn't show anything that sounded like the problem I had. For install problems, they wanted to know what version I had installed - but nothing got installed.

How do i repair my damaged google chrome browser

I still use Windows XP with service pack 3. First Make sure Google Chrome is COMPLETELY UNINSTALLED. Now go to a site called http://www.ninite.com

Find Google Chrome and check it and you also might download Firefox as well for a backup.

Now also find REVO and check it off

You might also consider checking and installing and running Glary. It is under UTILITIES. It will help clean up and MAINTAIN your XP.

Now click on GET INSTALLER.
Run it and follow the directions.

How do I remove google chrome app launcher?

its a glitch in Google Chromes latest update. just uninstall Chrome remove all its registry keys and left over folders. restart your computer.
then use Internet Explorer only then go to https://chrome.google.com click the download and follow the instructions. The app launcher will not install onto your desktop, but will open to the app launcher page when you open Chrome.
that too can be removed also bu going into settings "Open a specific page or set of pages. Set Pages" click on set pages and add new page to about:blank or to whatever page you want Chrome to open to. then click save. and that is it no more app page.
once i did this Chrome opens a lot faster.

Google Chrome is a free Internet browser made by Google.
It can be used on computers running the Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
If you are having problems with Google Chrome (slow connection, freezes or crashes), you should consider reinstalling the program.
To reinstall Google Chrome, you need to first uninstall the program.
After that, you can reinstall it by using the following directions.

Go to http://www.google.com/chrome to download the browser.
Select "Download Google Chrome."
Read the service terms and select "Accept and Install."
You cannot install Google Chrome without accepting the terms of service.
Select "OK". This will open the package.
Select "Install Package" and allow the installation to complete.
Choose "Close."
In order to open Google Chrome, you must go to "Applications," then select "Internet" and choose "Google Chrome."
Reinstall Google on A Windows Computer
Go to http://www.google.com/chrome to download the browser.
Select "Download Google Chrome."
Read the service terms and then select "Accept and Install."
You cannot install Google without accepting the terms of service.
After you accept, the installation will begin automatically.
Allow the installation to finish.
A dialog box will appear
Select "Start Google Chrome".
That will complete its installation and the browser will open automatically.
Reinstall Google on a Mac Computer
Go to http://www.google.com/chrome to download the browser.
Select "Download Google Chrome."
Read the service terms and then select "Accept and Install."
As with the other operating systems, you can't install Google Chrome without accepting the terms of service.
Open the file labeled "Google Chrome.dmg."
A Google Chrome window will open up.
Drag that Chrome icon from the window that opened up to the desktop.
This will start installation.
Open the browser.
The Finder will have you confirm that you want to open the application you downloaded from the Internet.
Select "Open."
You must select this to open the program.
Unlike Windows computers, Macs don't automatically open programs after installation.

Error 7

To resolve this issue, delete the Application folder, then try installing again. Follow these steps (for Windows):
  1. Go to the Start menu > Run.
  2. Enter one of the following commands in the text field, depending on your operating system.
    • Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome
    • Windows Vista: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome
  3. Click OK.
  4. Delete the Application folder. If you're having difficulty deleting this folder, check for active Google Chrome processes on your computer and end them. Here are a few ways to locate and shut down these processes:
    • Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on your keyboard and click Task Manager. Click the Processes tab and end every process that includes "google" or "chrome" in its name.
    • Download a third-party program called Process Explorer at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx. Use its Find menu to search for "Chrome/Application," then end all resulting processes.
Now try deleting the Application folder again.
  5. Once the Application folder is deleted, try installing Google Chrome again.
