Xd100 won't pick up the paper from the paper drawer
I use my xd100 as a copier -- not connected to a computer and never has been. I was using it tonight and it was working just fine. I changed the color of paper to copy on and it quit picking up the paper from the paper drawer. I've tried different colors and still the same problem. I have used different colors since we purchased it several years ago. I also tried cleaning the rollers with rubbing alcohol. Any ideas? Why was it working just fine and then not at all?

Sounds like the paper lifting plate for the bottom drawer hasn't lowered. The only way I know of to correct this is by removing the paper pick-up assembly. It's very easy. Open up the right lower door and you will see the paper pick-up assemblies. All you have to do is remove the two left screws. On the right side remove the cover. Then unplug the yellow wires under that same cover. Remove the single screw as well. The pick-up assembly should come out and the plate should drop. Make sure that the plate is free by lifting it and it should drop. This plate is not part of the paper pick-up assembly but is in the slot you've created by removing the assembly. If this is OK then replaced the paper pick-up assembly by reversing he procedure to remove it. As for the other drawer it may be a little harder. Possibly trying to loosening it and/or removing the paper assembly may help. It would be very difficult to help you without being there to see what is hanging the drawer up. This should help a little. Good Luck.
Toshiba has extraordinary fingers and rubbers for paper pick up, so I assume that paper is the main problem. Every time when you need to put paper in drawer you should shake a little bit (depends on paper manufacturer if they don't cut paper good they are connected with small tiny pieces of paper). Also if paper is wet they will cause issues. Keep paper dry. I hope it helps
there is either paper stuck around a roller (3) that feeds the paper or you have a bad clutch, most mnfs use magnetic clutches at the rear of the machine or bypass that get a red rusty dust in them causing squeal. recommend xerox takes a look...sorry they are quite expensive hourly
Have you replaced the paper pick up & paper feed & paper sep. rollers? If not try to clean the rollers with Wd-40 or simple green. If the copier works better, you will need to replace the rollers. Good Luck
If you are getting "Paper Jam check drawer two message" I would suggest you to check for any paper stuck inside the paper drawer two. If you don't see any paper jammed inside drawer two, you might also want to check out if its is stuck anywhere in the paper path. Removing the paper jam should fix the issue. Try cleaning the pick rollers (the rollers which pick the paper) in drawer two. This should help fixing this issue.
