Have a Nad 3020 using as preamp to Nad 2600 amp. Is there a way to hook up an equalizer

NAD (New Acoustic Dimension) was all the rage when I was into composite audio in the 1970s. Not sure why would want to tweak that sweet clear natural sound like the performers played it. Your problem will be that you are loading an amp to a pre amp.

Hi I have a problem with my NAD 763 receiver. It suddently stopped putting sound out of the speakers. Checked speakers fuse, checked all wire and connectors. reset to factory default. tried multiple...

Is it muted?

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

NAD T-763 receiver. cannot get surround sound. all speakers work. should the 7.1 and or surround be connected to the receiver and what else. stereo works fine....two front speakers, in stereo mode. ...

Have you looked at the manual? There is no internal source that would produce 7.1 audio other than the test tones. Attach a multichannel source according to ITS manual.

WILL T-763 PLAY MY CD'S OR DO I NEED SEPARTE CD PLAYER?

That's a receiver only, so its only built in function is the tuner. You'll need a separate CD player, plugged into the CD input jacks on the receiver's rear panel.

T763 Dead

This happens to many of those model. The problem is usually on the power board (if looking down into with the control panel facing your belly... it's the cluster of boards to the left, front of the unit. Look in the top, under the connectors. YOu sometimes have to dissassemble the thing alot to gety to it. Also, on the main board, under all the "cards" (the input/video circuit boards) and near the front (at the back of the cards) tere are heat sink mounted regulators that often need to be re-soldered.

The whole process is a pain, and can take a few hours to do properly, so most repair companies will charge accordingly. Yeah, it's a shame they made them like they did. If it's working, it's a good unit. Aside from these common failures.

NAD T760 remote control

You could buy a universal remote control and try the following NAD audio remote codes to program it with:
NAD
575 773 975

I read somewhere else that the 'Supplied Code for NAD receivers' was 033, but cannot confirm this. Try the first 3 first.

Universal remotes tend to be pretty cheap, certainly cheaper than buying one from NAD.

Good Luck

Receiver shuts down after loud bang

You said Unit is enclosed!! Does that mean it is inside something? Receivers & Amps need to have a clearance above them so air can circulate, otherwise you'll have an overheating problem. You also might have some of your wires crossed which will cause the Amp to shut down. Look at all your connections and make sure they're correct, including speaker wires.

Volume and multi channel output issue

Hi there. Are you familiar with board level repair for such products ? Your problem is most likely hardware. Either some of the final output transistors are fried, or it's a dsp problem, a regulator, a diode, a transistor in the circuit.. it could be a lot of things. But if everything was working fine and it quit someday without a change in the system's setup, it really looks like an hardware issue ! Do you have a way in the manual, that sets factory defaults, a kind of reset ? A lot of such units do have that. Try to unplug/interchange speakers as well, a shorted speaker could make the amp go nuts as well, but i wouldn't bet on it. Still, i'd check that out. Hope that helps ! cheebster.
