Hello, You might have a bad motherboard and need to replace.
First, I know its a pain but disconnect and reconnect all cables verify that your not missing one of your power cables look for any connections on the board that don't have cables hooked up to it. take extra care when hooking up your power button cable. Its easy to accidentally place them in the wrong pin.
Hope This Helps

Yes you need to go into the MB BIOS and set the option to use an add in card or alternatively set the boot priority to book from your add in card first.

In need of a wiring diagram or schematic for this motherboard

Yes! I'm back and the reason why is because I HAVE ALREADY GIVEN YOU THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM...

It's fairly easy to connect hardware and cables to a motherboard most pins are labeled and most connectors don't fit where they don't belong. I do it all the time at work and home. In the last solution, I gave you a link to Tyan's Web site where you can find a manual that will give you the specs, a guide and much more.

Maybe I should have explained how to use that link in deeper detail...when you click that link it will bring up a page providing you with a color image of the board along with specs. If you want the manual which gives you the CONNECTOR PIN ASSIGNMENTS AS WELL AS DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL THE BOARD, then you MUST click the image at the top of the page that looks like an open book (it will take you to the manuals). There are 2 PAGES OF MANUALS FOR TYAN BOARDS. YOUR BOARD IS LISTED ON PAGE 2.

If you follow this link again, you will see exactly what I'm explaining. http://www.tyan.com/archive/products/html/tiger133.html After you get to the Web page, click the icon that looks like an open book (when you place your pointer over this icon the book goes away and it says MANUALS). Now click it. On the next page, you will see MANUALS/ADDENDA and, just next to this is another one that says page 2, now click it.

On page 2, scroll down the list until you see Tiger 133 [Addendum]. Click the name of your board and the next thing that will come up is the EXACT manual that you're in need of. I promise!

Here is a link to the manual itself...take a look. You can also click the link in the paragraph above to go directly to the installation guide.

ftp://ftp.tyan.com/manuals/m_s1834_120.pdf

Now you should be able to get this bad boy running!!

I know that this will solve your issue as I followed these links both times to make sure the information I provided was accurate. This user guide tells you everything you need to install the board...even gives you explanations of the beep codes (which is very handy to know after installing a new board).

After you click that link and it takes you to what your looking for, can you please be kind enough to rate this solution accordingly.

Thanks!!

I just installed a new motherboard and CPU. When I power up the system it is not detecting my HD.

Hi fyrefly, I'm guessing the hdd is connected to, SATA1 port on the MB & the hdd is also listed in the boot menu! (So it should load).
If not check it. Make sure it is. You mentioned above you have Win XP w/SP3 installed. That is very tough to imagine, unless you had the hdd installed on your old board when you updated it to SP3.
If I'm correct you need to do a fresh install of windows on the hdd. Windows can see all the old drivers & hasn't a clue what to do with them. So it sends you to safe mode. I can understand that you do not want to loose your personal data. The best way to not loose your data would be to hook up your old board with the hdd. Add a second SATA or PATA drive to the system & copy & past all your personal data to the SATA or PATA slave drive. Here is a list of what you need to back up.
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Favorites
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Local Settings\Identities
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\My Documents
Data from any program you may have installed.

Once the data has been copied to a slave drive you can put it back into the new Asus board. Boot to the windows CD & format the hdd & install windows. It's always recommended to do a fresh install of windows when upgrading to a newer board. There’s only one exception to this rule. That is if the MB your switching to is exactly the same as the old MB. You do not need to put the old mother board back into your case for this data retrieval. Grab a couple of books about 1" to 2" thick & lay em on a table. Take a static bag (Like the one that covered the MB & lay it over the books). Place the old MB on the static bag. Hook up your power supply, video, hdd's, keyboard, mouse & connect your monitor. Use a pen & short the power on pins coming from the MB. The system will boot. Copy & past your data to the slave drive.
(Data saved)! Re-connect your new board (still in the case). Boot to the windows CD, format & install.
Install your programs, printer & update windows. Copy & past your data back to your hdd.
Everything should workout just fine. Windows will be happy too!
I have done this more times than I can recall. Its time-consuming, I know but its worth every minute.

Good luck fyrefly!
If the suggestion doesn't fly, tell me why.
Thank you for using fixya.
Mike
