Try putting the machine in test mode. You can do this by holding down the margin release key while turning it on. Keep holding it down until it starts typing by itself. Then turn it off and on again and see if it works.

My Swintec 600 is compressing the letters to close. Is there a way to change the space between the letters?

There is a switch on (I think) the left of the keyboard that will have 10, 12 maybe 15 and maybe PS printed beside it. Try the different settings until you find the one that looks the best or just put it on the number that is on the printwheel next to the print typestyle, like COURIER 10, COURIER 12, etc.

We have a swintec 2500 typewriter that when I attempt to press the letter "P" or any letter it types out a "period". Is there any feature to turn from one type of letter characters to another?

First be sure the printwheel is properly installed and that none of the spokes are bent of broken. Then check the pitch selector slide switch on the L. side of the KB it should be in 10 or 12 not in PS.

Usually means there is a problem on the main board. Could be the printwheel is not installed properly.

When typing does not print whole letter or doesn't print at all.

it would help if i knew exactly what model # we are talking about. but try this. look closely at your ribbon film after you type some characters. are the letters overlapping themselves? if so, press and hold the "code" key down while pressing the period key. let up and try typing. if that doesn't help, write back with model # and maybe i can assist further.
