Question about LSI Logic MegaRAID® SAS 8344ELP (5 Pack) (LSI00058) Storage Controller

1 Answer

LSI Web BIOS won't start?

I've installed a LSI MegaRAID SAS 8344ELP controller into a Windows VISTA PC. Following POST, after pressing CTRL H the Web BIOS utility should launch. Instead I have a black screen for a couple of seconds then Windows launches normally.

Web BIOS configuration utility is supposed to the operating system independent?

Does anyone have a resolution to this?

I got the same problem, with my LSI SAS HBA 8708 ELP.

When I press CTRL-H it shortly states that WebBIOS will be shown after BIOS Post, but then start as usual, or does nothing, if there's no alternate OS available.

Could you post, which mainboards you have, because I suspect that it's caused by improper handling of the PCIe X16 Ports on ASUS Mainboards. (I got P5WDG2-WS Pro)

I have a LSI 8888ELP on a Asus P5Q Deluxe and had the same problem with not being able to access the Web BIOS.

What I found was I could access the Web BIOS if I disconnected the hard drive that plugged into the onboard controller.

I have transfered a LSI20160 SCSI card to my new 64-bit Windows 7 PC, but I cannot find a proper driver for the card.

I'm assuming its a driver issue.
The installation cannot proceed. Can the Vista Driver be used? Or do I need a Windows 7 specific SCSI driver?
If the Vista SCSI driver can be used how does one use the Vista driver with a "Clean" install?

I have an Intek DG45ID motherboard, installed a Fasttrak TX4650 RAID card in the PCI-X x1 slot. The motherboard does not get past the BIOS post in the boot process, just after showing the boot options a...

It seems that the card might be faulty. If there were incompatibility problems, they would normally show up under the operating system (Windows, Linux, etc), not during the booting process.
From your description, I suspect that the card's BIOS is corrupt. Try getting a replacement under warranty and see if the new card works normally (it should).
