I've removed the batt for 60 sec, pushed the reset button, instlld a new SONY cassette, still repeats "reinstall" etc.

  • Bernie Plonski Mar 07, 2009

It closes freely and locks securely

  • Bernie Plonski Mar 07, 2009

    No change

  • Bernie Plonski Mar 07, 2009

Now, I have another camera identical to the broken one. I've compared one against the other in respect to mech parts location, attitude, security and there is no difference as far as I can see (from the opened camera). What is it that determines the acceptability or non-acceptability of the cassette?

  • Bernie Plonski Mar 07, 2009

    Anyone else want to guess?

  • Bernie Plonski Mar 07, 2009

Thank you. I'll give it a try. I may return another day. B.

Its not the assembly or door latch or any other problem.its the problem of small chip on the board called irc 321 .AS WRITTEN ON IT.THAT HAS ALL THE MEMORY DATA IN IT.THAYT CHIP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.JUST OPEN THE UNIT AND REPLACE THIS CHIP.MANY A TIMES REMOVING THE BATTERY AND REINSERTING resets this chip.also replacing the battery solves the problem.but if you have tried all the battery removing and replacing instructions and still no change.just get this irc 321 chip replaced.

Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
click this link and check out the solunion with image mentioned that will help you to solve this error problem I reviewed almost all the comments tall about smacking the camera it's sound a mechanical problem, this why I try to check the Mechanics as u can see In Pictures attached the back Rubber wheel is not in the proper place and the white plastic lock is not there when I flipped the camera upside down it's come out (the white plastic lock) then I place it BACK so the error is gone that grate no more C:32:23

Have you tried a Sony Brand Tape on it?

sony recommends the following steps in this problem:

  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
  3. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
  4. Turn on the camcorder.

I push the tape in as to load it and it immediately pops back out.

Your camera is experiencing condensation - your LCD should have a flashing image of a red droplet (this is a condensation warning). REMOVE THE CASSETTE to avoid damaging it.

Another cassette CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be loaded when condensation is detected.

Leave the cassette compartment open - its takes an hour until the water droplets evaporte. After the condensation warning stops flashing, wait for 1 more hour before resuming use.

My camera cassette case wont come out and it says re-insert cassette how do i open it?

Mine does that once in a while, I turn it off, remove the battery, put the battery back in, plug the AC adapter in and turn it back on and sometimes it works. Now if I can get it to load a tape without eating it.

Reinsert the cassette

I had the same problem and had to leave my camera in for service twice, although I am not using it that much. In the end, they told me they had to change the "head" which cost me about 100euros. If it happens again, I think I will throw the camera in the bin!

Reinsert cassette

Turn the unit off and hit the back of the camera twice near the battery compartment with the palm of your hand. Sounds crazy but it worked with my camcorder Sony DCR-TRV480. Problem started when I used 8MM Head Cleaner. I think the roller got stuck inside camcorder. The trouble code came up C:31:22. Hope this helps.

Problem with loading cassette

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.

Can not load any cassette even empty cassette holder can not be closed.

I had the same problem and solved it by removing the battery to allow the camera to reset. Worked fine after that.
