I bought a jenson nvx225 gps. It worked for about 11 months.
One day, I turned it on and got an onscreen message telling me I need to insert the memory card.
Any idea how I can fix this?

    Thanks,

    Ralph

Hi,

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a nvx225 gps how do i update this unit

Unfortunately the Audiovox NVX225 (which was also marketed under the identical model number for the Jensen brand name) has too date not had any map updates made available. For whatever reason the manufacturers never got around to updating their maps after selling these, as well as many other units to consumers. If you take a look on the Internet there are all kinds of forums and help sites that are full of people complaining about the fact that their GPS units are over 5 years old and have never been updated. Even with all of these complaints made public the companies still chose to not make the updates available.

There are websites that will give you files to download that will completely replace your GPS operating system and then allow you to download and install update map information that they have created. The real drawback to that is there is no guarantee the hack will work and it could render your unit totally unusable. Should you decide this is something you want to try you can do a Google search for your model number and the word hack. You will then be given a number of websites that will have the hack files available.

Just bought yester day turns on show card goin in

The animation is telling you to insert a data card, which should have come with the device. If you have already inserted the data card (make sure there isn't a blank in the slot) then the unit is faulty and needs to be returned.

I have a Mio C220 that does not power on even though battery is charged. Will not work off of battery or plugged into cigarette lighter. Bought it in Nov. 07 but have lost box, receipt, software, and all...

Mio wants people to know, especially the folks who recently bought the Mio C220, that you need to put the SD card in the unit for it to work. The Mio C220 has the maps on the SD Card, and it seems that not everyone knows to put the SD card in the unit before firing it up. No SD card means no working GPS.
Mio Says:
1. Before you power on your C220, insert the SD Card firmly into the slot on the right side of the device
2. Once the SD card has been inserted into the device, power on your C220 by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.
For More information check out the Mio GPS Page on the SD Card for Mio C220

SD card

Not a solution I'm afraid, but an observation. I tried a 4Gb card to no avail. Formatted it with:FAT, FAT32 and NTFS and it still was not visible. My feeling is it will not read larger cards, perhaps topping out at 1 or 2Gb as I am currently using a 256Mb card with no problems.

Just an FYI.

Good Luck,

David

TT Home does not recognise connection

You definitely need software and maps on an SD card. The TOMTOM will not work without a card inserted. The card will contain MAPS , Map authorisation codes ( to show they are genuine TOMTOM maps bought and paid for ) , POI ( points of interest ), GPS fix data , voices ( for spoken navigation ) etc etc etc. ....................
PLEASE NOTE , TRYING A CARD FROM ANOTHER TOMTOM is very unlikely to work. Each card has an authorisation code that is generated via an algorithm inside each TOMTOM and is device specific.
However , trying a card from another tomtom might produce a diferrent result but still not work , at least this might prove that the tomtom is working OK before you rush out and buy a tomtom card.
