I bought a jenson nvx225 gps. It worked for about 11 months.
One day, I turned it on and got an onscreen message telling me I need to insert the memory card.
Any idea how I can fix this?

    Thanks,

    Ralph

In some Ford products, a CD changer can be installed in the center console in which case you will find a connector possibly hidden inside.

Ouku GPS/DVD Can't find navigation software

Make sure your SD Card is inserted in the GPS SD card slot properly. it is located behind the head of the unit( where you insert your DVDs) usually has red or orange tape over it. just remove it and reinstall it. Hope this helps.

Passcode unlock

If that's a jenson head unit then it should say in the manual or you can look it up on there website and download the manual, but if it's asking for a 4 digit # try 0000 or 1234

Hello, I am tryining to update my alpine gps headunit to get european maps, where can i get the correct file

GPS SYSTEMS HAVE A TENDENCY TO LOSE CONNECTIVITY TO SATILLITES BECAUSE OF BAD WEATHER, CLOUD COVER, TUNNEL ENTRANCE, BAD OR NO POWER, BATTERY LIFE HAS BEEN EXPENDED, HAZARD OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE TO GPS SYSTEMS, AND IMPROPER VEHICLE MOUNTING AND HAND HELD POSITION. FREE SOLUTIONS 1. ALWAYS PLACE YOUR GPS DEVICE IN THE UPPERMOST PORTION OF YOUR VEHICLE SO THAT THE GPS SIGNAL MAY EASILY LOCATE YOUR DEVICE EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS BAD 2. KEEP YOUR BATTERY CHARGED ONLY WHEN IT NEEDS IT MOST AND AVOID CHARGING OFTEN 3. IF YOU OVERCHARGE YOUR GPS DEVICE, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE BATTERY LEAKAGE, WHICH CAN EAT AWAY AT YOUR CLOTHING, DESTROY YOUR DEVICE IN SECONDS, AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE SEATS 4. YOUR GPS DEVICE HAS A TENDENCY TO FREEZE BECAUSE OF THE SIM AND MEMORY CHIPS LOCATED WITHIN IT 5. YOU CAN FIX THE FREEZING PROBLEM BY REMOVING THE SIM CHIP AND MEMORY CHIP AND RESTARTING YOUR SYSTEM 6. OTHER FREEZE PROBLEMS OCCUR BECAUSE THE DEVICE IS COLD WHEN IT IS KEPT IN THE VEHICLE AND CHIP CREEK OCCURS WHERE THE DEVICES MICROCHIPS BECOME LOOSE AND TIGHTEND BECAUSE OF WARM AND COLDER AIR FLUCTUATIONS. IT IS BEST TO KEEP THE DEVICE IN A PURSE OR ON A TABLE WHERE IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO CONSTANT TEMP. CHANGE 7. PREVENTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE IS BEST SOLVED BY: interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common

Need replacement knob for Parrot Bluetooth car kit MKi9200

Went to Radio Shack after we lost the knob to our MKi9200 and bought an Insert Control Knob. The blue one is model #274-403. It also comes in red. They are sold in a two-pack for $1.99.

To install it, first you need to file off the plastic pointer on the side of the knob so that the knob is perfectly round. There is a small screw on the side of this knob so that you can tighten the knob to the post on the remote.

Advantages of this knob over the original Parrot knob are (1) the knob _never_ falls off, and (2) there is more tactile feedback when turning the knob. I like the asthetics of the blue. The only drawback is that it is more difficult to spin the knob quickly in long lists.

I bought a Factory CD Player for my 1999 Grand AM

Does the stereo match up with car ? if it does then the harness should just plug in and work, if i remember correctly Gm didnt have any coded stereos, imports are the notorious for having them . I would just give it a try and plug it in . If it says code then you will have to get serial number from the stereo itself and call the dealer
