If it has a vga connector on the motherboard, it does not need a secondary video card.  If the vga doesn't work and you have no display at all, not even on boot up, then you have a bad motherboard.

Try using one of the other video output ports. Such as the DVI or HDMI port. Make sure you have RAM in the mobo. Also make sure all cables are connected correctly, and are securely connected.

PNY GeForce FX 5200 PCI 256 MB

http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Here you have an auto detect applet. You need to have Java in order to work. this will identify your graphic card and lead you to driver download.

if not, you can manually download it from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

choose GeForce 5 Fx Series and your operating system.

after that, you will be presented with a page and download button for the driver suite.

run, install, next...next.. next until finish, then you are done.

You may be prompted to restart your PC to finish installation.

Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.
Welcome to Fixya, David Murdock.

Click here for drivers for your Nvidia based graphics card. You will need to click the Agree and Download button. Once the file is downloaded, double click the downloaded file to install the driver.

Therefore we know that the graphics card is ok and the problem lies in the remaining components in the computer system. Here's what you need to do:

1.)Clean the graphics card slot on the mainboard carefully with a vaccum cleaner, plastic nozel only to prevent shorts.
2.)Remove all RAM memory modules and clean their slots with the vaccum as well.
3.)Now clean the gold fingered connectors of the RAM memory modules with tissue paper.
4.)Install the memory modules. One at a time, if more than one is present in your system. (Faulty RAM memory Detection Process: Install one memory module when all is ready for power on, then power on system. If it still does not boot then remove that module and install the second on it's own. If it works then one can say that the first module is faulty/unstable and the second module is operational.) If they both still don't work then one says the problem lies else where.

5.)If this computer system has an onboard VGA Graphics port, A blue vertical port near the rear USB ports, then connect your monitor to this port and turn on your computer. If it powers on and boots up then you need to install the drivers for you 5200 graphics card at this point. If not then the mainboard or processor could be toast or a simple BIOS/CMOS reset could set it all right again.

David I am going to let you read two guides that may help you in this regard, free of charge. They are entitled:
How do I reset my BIOS/CMOS to defaults?
and
My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!!

Please do send along any questions you may have.

Take care!

My lil bro Computer wont relay any video

You have done a lot of the basic maintenance steps. You might want to try and reseat the CPU. Sometimes they "creep out of their sockets because to the heat. Also, check to make sure the CPU fan is running if you are sure the power supply works. Without a fan, the CPU can overheat and produce your symptoms. Hope this helps.

Blank Monitor

I have the same system and card. The problem is the system is trying to run two monitors at once. Use Windows safe mode (F8 during boot) to uninstall any Pny drivers you may have put on. Reboot. Install the pny drivers again. Before rebooting, use the device manager to look at the display drivers. There should be two, an Intel one, and the pny Nvidia one. Disable the intel driver and reboot. Worked for me. Youmay also want to upgrade the power supply. The 3000 has a 225W and the 8400 card wants at least 300W.

Nvidia GeForce 7200 GS PCIE - Multi-Display does not work

This card does not allow you to Multi-Display with the VGA port and the S-video port. If you put a DVI to VGA port adaptor (not supplied) on the DVI port, you can Mulit-Display two VGA monitors and (presumably) a VGA (from the DVI port) and S-video monitor.

This is not explained anywhere and the card does not come with a DVI to VGA port adaptor, so I wa only able to work this out after I bought the DVI to VGA port adaptor.

Can i put fan on pny verto geforce 6200

Yes you can and this will propably solve your issue. You can put any 5v or 12v fan that you can fit on the vga heat-sink. Do not attempt to power the fan directly from the vga fan connector. Use a normal fan that will connect on your PSU outlets. Try not to damage the VGA while doing so.

Ati mobility radeon 9000 agp

hi camperd55,

I believe you have the right adapter cable. According to my knowledge the Radeon 9000 supports TV output via RCA (check http://ati.amd.com/products/MobilityRadeon9000/index.html:" Mobility™ Radeon™ 9000 provides the highest quality output support for DVI-I, TV and CRTs.")

Firstly, it would be a good idea to make sure your TV has the 3 RCA jacks into which you will insert the adapter cable's 3 RCA connectors according to the colors of the connectors and jacks.

Secondly, if your laptop has a VGA port, you're set to connect your laptop to your TV, no hustles. If your laptop doesn't have a VGA port, your going to have to get a DVI-VGA converter, so you're setup will be something like: [laptop]-[DVI-VGA converter]-[VGA-3RCA adapter cable]-[TV's 3RCA jacks].

When you get your laptop's screen displaying on your TV, its merely a matter of using your recording equipment to record the TV's image as you would any program showing on the TV.

I hope this will help you solve your problem, thank you for using the FixYa service.

Kind regards
Henru : )
kind regards
