It was pretty cold the days that the screen would show up white-Between 20 and 30 degrees. This was last saturday, sunday amd monday. It snowed and was very cold in the Washington d.c. area.

Ok, the issue is that the lcd liquid needs time to warm up.  I found this out in my car here in Minnesota that I would see a white screen, which is the backlight.  The liquid that causes the display or colors was cold and thick.  Leave your car warm up to a good temperature and then try it out...should work.  Its a known issue with them, not much you can do about it except give it time to warm up.  If yours has a removeable screen like mine, take it inside with you at night.

I connect my alpine cva 1003 to valor dv-169T dvd player. sounds come out but the screen is not getting connected to dvd player. i connect red, white and yellow wires.

if evrything is ok with the dvd (make sure the dvd is working fine), you need to hook up the yellow/ blue wires and yellow / black wires one for parking breack and the other for the breack chek the diagram on top of the alpine radio .

Lanzar SD32MU: how do you disable the video screen

ok here is the big secret. There should be a wire that goes to the parking break. In most after market radios, it is a brown wire. The way to get around this is to put that wire directly to ground. It will work at all times.

I just installed an Pyle PLD70BT. Can't get any sound from speakers. Even tried an external speaker, still doesn't work. I installed this myself and have installed many stereo systems in the past, never...

May not be a problem with the installation, sometimes ya just get a bad one. If you have hooked it up to power, and ground, and attempted to use a speaker outside of the cars wiring, then odds are you just got a bad radio out of the box.. This sort of thing just happens man, but hey that's what warranties are for right?

SCREEN WON,T STAY LIT UNLESS I TOUCH IT

You are simply in blackout mode. This is so at night you aren't blinded by the glow of a screen. Here are instructions right from the manual to turn on or off.

Blackout Mode On and Off
When Blackout mode is turned on, the monitor display will turn off to
reduce power consumption.
This additional power enhances the sound quality.
1 Touch [VISUAL] on the main source screen.
The VISUAL selection screen is displayed.
2 Touch [OFF].
The backlit-display portion goes out.
3 Touch [OFF] again to cancel the display backlight.
To make the setting, set to “Setting the VISUAL Touch Button” (page
34).
If any button on the unit is pressed during Blackout mode, the
function will be displayed for 5 seconds to show the operation before
returning to Blackout mode.
While the backlighting is turned off, the function indicator

No sound at all

Sometimes you need to make sure the REMOTE line is hooked up, which is the blue-wire with the white stripe.  If it isn't hooked up, this can cause the unit to function, but you won't get any sound.
