Just bought the Samsung Galaxy s6 edge yesterday. After I charged the cellphone for the first time and turned it back on there was this straight.
it sounds like you have horizontal colapse a very complect repair try hitting the tv if the screen comes up full picture then its a dry joint if not there is an ic or power fault toss it
Hi,
If the line is present on all inputs, it is most likely a bad panel (screen). The screens are either not available or cost more than a new TV.
Not good news I know but at least you can save the $100 estimate fee.
Best of luck

Yes, your screen most likely is going bad, the only other reason for lines and distortion is a loose data cable that runs up the back of the lcd panel on the left side. For the touchpad, go to the control panel > Mouse > look at the top of the window and look for the device properties. open this tab and look for your touchpad listed. Highlight it and click on the settings button. Go through these settings and make sure that tapping is enabled. Even if it is, you may consider updating the drivers for the touchpad.
Sorry, that is common for generic replacement xformers for
your make / model . There are some adjustments to minimize
the effect in servicer menu...............you can try turning down the
screen control a bit....................T.
The several thin white lines at the top of the screen is the warning that the vertical output IC is not getting the boost voltage it needs to run correctly. The IC cannot operate for long like that and shorts out inside, which is when the vertical collapses altogether and you get the thin white line through the center of the screen. The good news for your son is that he had nothing to do with that, and it has nothing to do with the cable F connector. The set needs to be serviced by an experienced tech who will restore the boost supply and replace the vertical output IC, and when I do that I charge $75 but techs in your area will vary, so be sure to ask around.
