Frig was dead. checked main board,fuse blown. Replaced main board and got lights but nothing else.

Little late, but the same thing happened to me. With a continuity tester you should be able to check to see if the fuse is good/bad, but make sure there is no power going to the board. Mine went bad but since the fuses are integral to the board, the entire board was bad. $20 later after a visit to RadioShak, I was able to remove the fuse, and install a fuse holder in its place. Never soldered on a printed circuit board before, but thought it worth a shot since the board is $200! I say try and trouble shoot it yourself. It worked out well for me.

Usually when the first unit went back with a blown control board the tech should have adviced on the possible causes of a blown control board.
The main cause is usually a surge in the power supply which is received by the unit. What you should do is get a repairman to take a look at it again and if the control board is also blown request a replacement and get a voltage regulator for the unit. The voltage regulator should control power surges into the unit thereby ensuring that the power surge into the unit is minimized.
