Question about Crosley CDE6000 Electric Dryer
Their is no back cover on a Crosley dryer. You must work from the front. You start by removing the power. Use a standard putty knife to press against spring clips which hold the top down to the front panel.
Once the top is flipped up you can remove the 2 screws holding the front panel on.
Once you get that out your way you can remove the drum and clean out the lint from the dryer. The heater is in the rear. The limit is mounted on top of the heater, it will shut down the heater at 250 f. the fuse is mounted on the side of the heater and will BLOW if the temp exceeds 300f. The main problem on these dryers is the plastic blower wheel which will get loose from the heat an make it take longer for the clothes to dry. Much longer. Also a ball of lint will get into the filter housing. The glides and rolers need to be inspected before you reasemble the dryer. It is reccomended you use temp resistant zoomspout oil to lube the wheels and idler. This is a well builtsimple design that is well worth repairing.
