Question about Aiwa Audio Shelf Systems

2 Answers

Have a AWA Compact Disc Stereo System. While playing any CD it intermittent stops playing the CD. After a few seconds it comes back on and continues exactly where it left off. I've used a CD cleaner (disc) and it did not solve the problem. Sue

Are there instructions for cleaning the lens?

If not, what should I use to clean the lens?

And, how do I open it up to get to the lens?

  • suehubb Mar 07, 2009

I still have a question concerning the answer I was given.

Have to figure out how to open the unit and what solution do I use to clean the lens?

    Thanks.

Its the lens problem.nothing can be done in this case.just the lens needs cleaning internally manually by opening the unit.if that does not helps then lens replacement as the lens reading capacity has gone weak.it has to be replaced.

as normal lens cleaning cds are available in maket with the solution.you just have to spray the given solution on the cd and insert the cd in the unit.and play it.after a minute it will automatically come out.if the lrens gets cleaned the other cd will work.but if the lens is weak then it needs replacement *** the cleaning will not solve.

You need to take the unit apart to clean the lens directly with a cotton stick and isopropyl alcohol, check also cd spinner grip.

I have a memorex stereo, turntable, 3 cd changer etc. The standby light comes on but no sound, it is only 2 yrs old..

Sometimes you have to unplug it for about 30 seconds, then when you plug it in press the power on button. If there is still no sound, check the speaker connections on the back they sometimes come loose.

I also have a LG FA163DAB what won't eject a CD.

Hi there! I have one of these units and there appear to be 2 LOCKS on it. The first is a general LOCK probably to prevent people from fiddling with the controls while on display on the shopfloor. This lock is activated and removed by pressing the STOP key on the remote and on the front of the unit at the same time for 5-10 seconds. The second lock is a CD player lock which comes on automatically (I think) when the unit is moved to prevent damage to the laser inside. Does anyone know how to remove this lock? It has been on for about 3 days now and it is not explained in the user manual. My CD is stuck inside and I cannot listen to anything else but the CD which is inside the unit!
