Re: How do I convert a decimal answer to a fraction
Enter in the equation, or what you need to solve. Press the equals button, and if your answer appears as a decimal, hit the button above the number '8'. It says something like 'a b/c'. Your number should now appear in fraction form. To get it as an improper fraction, simply hit the '2ndF' button and then hit the 'a b/c' button again.

Not quite true for OS 2.56 MP for the TINspire with Ti84 keyboard. To convert a complex decimal value, that you just calculated, into a fraction use the command Math [1:>Frac] and it will convert the value to complex fractions See below.
A fraction is in fact a ratio of two number: a division of a numerator by a denominator. The key used for the division operation is the one above the multiplication sign and below the caret [^], and in thee rightmost column of keys.
Beware that this calculator converts any ratio of two numbers into a decimal value. To keep a fraction in a fraction form you must use the [|=>Frac] or [ToFrac] command. To convert a decimal result to a fraction, use the [|=>Dec] command. These commands are accessible through the CATALOG or more easily by pressing [MATH] (under the ALPHA key) and selecting [1:|=>Frac], or [2:|=>Dec] Ex: to keep 27/48 in fraction form you enter 27 [/] 48 [MATH][1:|=>Frac] [ENTER]. Result is 9/16 You will notice that the resulting fraction is reduced to its simplest form. To convert the above result from fraction to decimal press [MATH][2:|=>Dec]
A fraction can always be approximated by a decimal value but the converse is not always possible.
You can convert between Standard Form (with fractions and pi) or
Decimal form by using the "S<->D" button. Use Mode 1 if you
mostly prefer fraction answers and you can use the SD button to convert
to decimal or use Mode 2 if you mostly prefer decimal answers and use
the SD button to see the fraction. I hope this helps and good luck! Please remember to vote Thanks.
Place both the base and the exponent in parentheses
(3/4)^(-2) then press enter. Your answer will be in decimal form at first 1.777...
Select the 1: Fraction option and it will convert your decimal value to the fraction answer of 16/9.
Negative exponents flip the fraction. For instance, (3/4)^(-1) = 4/3. So for (3/4)^(-2) you could just square the numerator and denominator separately to get 9/16, and then flip the fraction to account for the negative. That will give you 16/9.
